My pick for next head coach

Gary Kubiak

He has been in a great system at Denver
He is an offense minded guy
He knows good OLine play
Knows how to coach QBs
Knows the NFL unlike a college coach.

He is also due a shot at a Head Coaches job.

What do you think?

:shakeno:

AGAIN C Weis ......

Gee I am starting to miss our old debates. :roflmao:

As far as Weiss goes, I believe his loyalty is to great to NE to go in the division. He will be in demand, and there will be teams other than us who are looking for a HC.

I guarantee he does not go in the division.

Kubiak all the way baby!

Weis has been interviewed for a h-c position for the past 3 or 4 years and never been offered a chance .... He has been an offensive coordinator under Parcells with the jests and the pats,,, and Belilchick didn't retain Weis for sentimental reasons towards Parcells !!!!!!!
If Weis's contract is up,, he can sign with ANY team.. Did you forget how the pats had to aquire Belichick and what he cost the team?

This guy deserves a shot and this Dolphins team NEEDS him BADLY .....

There are a lot of other offensive coaches I'd rather have than Weiss. That guy does not have the mental make up to be a head coach. It will be a mistake to hire him.

What is so great about a coordinator who has had one season in the past four where his offense was rated in the top 10 in anything? Through his entire career, his offenses have been rated in the middle of the pack or in the bottom third of the league.

Why is he such a great candidate while Jim Bates isn't, even though the lowest Jim Bates's defense has rated in the top 7 in every season he's been a coordinator?

Bill Belichick also struggled in his first stint as an NFL coach. I think we have to go after Carroll if the Trojans win the the national championship. Look beyond "The Choke" he gave us in the Fake Spike game. The man has done an amazing job with the Trojans. Perhaps he'll be able to get it done with our Phins. I'd certainly take Carroll over Mike Shula, Gary Kubiak, and Gregg Williams.

Wrong game...He did the choke thing at a Sunday Night Game at JRS.

Because his last name is Shula? He can't even lead the Crimson Tide to a winning season.
4-2? That sounds like a winning season to me. Obviously you're reffering to last season. Well he came in so late, that he didn't know the players, or even the playbook. He had no idea what player need what coaching style. So how can you expect a winning season in that situation?

Im all about getting Kubiak in here. The last two years I been yelling for him Kirk Ferentz would be nice. Saban would be ok, I call him junk, but he is strictly all about the D. I think we need to go with an O minded guy. Hence Kubiak and Ferentz. My top two.

I like Kubiak a lot. I think he'll get a HC gig one day. Maybe with us. But remember, Wayne's a name-whore. And Kubiak ain't as big a name as most of the other guys in the papers. Anyway.......

I wonder if Kubiak would retain Trestman as offensive coordinator. They're both West Coast guys. Are their philosophies aligned as well??

The thing you have to like about Kubiak is that he's worked under Shannahan for a long, long time (10 years as Denver's OC, one year under Shannahan in SF....3 Super Bowl rings). Shannahan is still considered by his peers as they league's best gameday coach. I also like the fact that, despite the West Coast system, Denver has always liked to throw downfield.

I dont care who it is as long as he doesnt look like a 70's Pornstar. I also would love to see Alex Gibbs brought in to fix the OL. A Kubiak/Gibbs reunion?!?!

I say Kubiak for HC

Plus i'd like to see them bring in Iowa's coach for Asst HC, he has an eye for offensive lineman. He also has keep Iowa's D strong since he took over.

First lets go out and get the best assistant GM available. Someone who won't waste our early round picks, but also has a knack for mid to late rounders.. Then let him hire a ballbuster for a Head Coach first, someone who demands excellence, and discipline (Saban, Stoops, Al Groh), then lets pick up and pass oriented offensive coordinator(Norm Chow, Mike Marts type coach), an up an coming D-Cordinator that runs an attack style(zone blitz, etc), and grab whoever is the best Special teams coach in college or available in pro ranks.

We'll have a high 1st round pick, and as bad as the offense has been the talent at WR, and TE could be very impressive this time next next season. (Boston, Booker, Chambers, and McMichael)

This franchise has a great history, and we should be able to draw out coaches that otherwise might be happy where they're at currently.

Peace Out

I think the coaching job will go to whoever is named GM...with that said only one guy will unseed Spielman and its Scott Pioli...If Pioli is hired Kirk Ferentz of Iowa, then Charlie Weiss then Romeo Crennel will be chosen in that order...
