Well this is what I took from the game, It's only one game of course but i think it said alot. Lets get this started.

Quarterback- C. Pennington 26/43 251 2 Td's 1 INT

Well Penny looked pretty lost in the 1st half. He looked OK in the 3rd quarter and looked really good trying to get a comeback in the 4th. His INT to end the game was a pretty dumb throw but I don't put all the blame on him. We could've used some better playcalling. I give QB play a B- due to the bad play in the 1st half. I expect Penny to really look back at this game and use it to improve and he will be a wonderful QB for us this year imo. I'm already going to say we will win the Fins-Jets 2nd game this year :hi5:.

Running Backs- Rushing R. Williams 10-24R. Brown 6-23

The rushing game really didn't get going this game. Ricky Williams caught a clutch 1st down pass and ran out of bounds near the end of the game however Ronnie Brown outran him. I recall seeing 2 decent runs by Ronnie but all off Ricky's were 2-3 yard gains with 1 nice 6 yard run. I give our RB's a D. You can blame the O-Line some but still, we did a horrible job running the ball, however I expect it to improve. As much as I love Ricky, Ronnie should be starting next week.

Wide Reciever's-Receiving G. Camarillo 3-37
T. Ginn 2-17
D. Bess 1-8

Well what can I say here. Only 3 WR's had a catch the whole game. Ted Ginn and Camarillo both had nice 1st down catches near the end of the game but other than that they were a no show. Ted Ginn did get an end-around run for only 2 yards but I blame that on the blocking which broke down. I give the WR's a D. Would be an F if not for the 1st down catches at the end trying to get a comeback.

Tight Ends- ReceivingA. Fasano 8-84 1 TD D. Martin 4-53 1 TD
Wow. All I can say is wow. Our TE's were definately one of our bright spots today. I expected Fasano to do a good job out there but the TE most of us Fin Fans wanted cut, David Martin, played great out there today. He made 2 clutch catches nearing the end of the game including a TD. I am really imrpessed by our TE's and I see Penny going to them alot during the season. I give them an A. I hope they play this consistent the whole year.

Offensive Line- Well this is pretty hard to grade here, they had their ups and downs out their.

Run Blocking- Not a real good job run blocking. Granted this is the 1st game I will give them some slack here. I do think the Jets Defense is alot better than i anticipated them to be. I will give them a C.

Pass Blocking. This is hard to grade. Sometimes they looked outstanding out there, other times they broke down. 2 rookies and a 2nd year player on this line so of course there will be mistakes. Jake Long had 2 penalties as well, one was false start, the other tripping. Both penalties negated 1st down runs by Pennington. I will give them a B-. I definately seeing this line being very good down the stretch. Vernon Carey did get injured but he came back.

Overall Offense Grade- C

Time for the defense.

Defensive Line- IMO they did a real good job out there. Langford stood out to me. He had a sack and 3 tackles. Vonnie Holliday made a play and I noticed Jason Ferguson in the backfield a few times as well. I think our D-Line will be outstanding this year. Phillip Merling managed 2 tackels as well. overral I give them a B.

Linebackers- Just like the O-Line, they had their share of ups and downs. Channing Crowder led the linebackers with 7 tackles and 3 assists. Matt Roth was outstanding, racking up 5 tackles, a sack and a forced fumble. Akin Ayodele made some plays. Torbor made a play or 2. Joey Porter played very well despite having his back problems. he recorded 2 tackles, 4 assisted tackles and a sack, however I feel he should be credited with 2 sacks. When the jets had that bad snap that fumbles, it was Joey who took Favre to the ground, I guess they didnt credit Joey for that though. I give them a C because they didn't do a good job stopping the run. Thomas Jones went 22 carries for 101 yards with a TD.

Defensive Backs- I don't even really wanna talk about this to be honest. Yeremiah Bell was everywhere with 7 tacles and 3 assisted tackles. But the rest of the DB's were just... Crocker showed he shouldn't be starting and I am looking forward to seeing Jason Allen as the starter next week. Andre Goodman got beat by Crotchery for the 1st TD of the game. Will Allen got beat by Coles on what should've been a TD but Favre threw a bad pass. Brett Favre tosses one in the air with a hang time of about 5 seconds on 4th and 13, when the ball comes down, one of the Jet's scrub WR's is WIDE OPEN for the TD. Renaldo is getting too much blame here, some blame should go on the Lineman who didnt get the sack. Also Hill was simply stepping up incase Favre made a run for it, being he is known to do so. The DB's played pretty bad and I give them a D-. I expect it to improve But we definately need to address the CB position next off-season.

Overral Defense Grade- I will give the defense a C

Special Teams- Bess and Ginn both took part in the returning game. Nothing special here. Fields shanked a Punt. Carpenter had a kick out of bounds and another one that nearly bounced out of bounds, he had no field goal attempts. Renaldo Hill nearly (and probably should've) blocked one punt, I do think he got his hands on the punt because it was short and out of bounds. As far as coverage goes, it wasnt great but wasn't bad, could use some improvement though. I give ST play a D.

Overall this game was not good. It was a close game and i nearly died after Penny's INT at 13 seconds left in the game. But this game was real fun to watch in the 4th. We had a realistic chance to punch in a TD with seconds remaining in the game. I give the Dolphins overall a C. Defense was much better than our offense on the 1st half. But Offense outplayed our Defense in the 2nd half, especially in the 4th quarter. Either way the Jet's DID NOT beat us, we beat ourselves.

And the Refs sucked *** too :err:

Take this write-up for what its worth, got bored and figured I would do it

Lots of good points and all that stuff can be fixed now that the coaching staff has seen the guys in game play

Yup, I am really hoping for 2 things come next week.

1. Ronnine Brown starts

2. Jason Allen starts. Crocker looked horrible out there.

Nice post. I thought our offensive line looked young and inexperienced. They will grow as the season goes on. It was evident, we need to improve at WR. Again, we are young and need someone that can get open.

I have no idea what Crocker was thinking on the 1st TD, and what Hill was thinking on the 4th down TD.

I think it is clear we are heading in the right direction. It is unfortunate we lost. I thought we had it in the end.

I agree, bring in Boldin and we will be looking very good. As for Hill on that "miracle" td, i give a little blame to Will Allen as well, it wasn't his job to cover the guy but he still ran to him as he was catching, he could've at least layed a hit on the guy's back, possibly causing a drop.

Boldin would be amazing. I guess we can wish. Good point on the TD, I just do not know how all our defenders failed to react to a hail mary type pass like that.

Ya I will be dissapointed if Crocker starts again, Ronnie should start but I dont think he will.

I just hope that these young guys can learn from their mistakes and improve from week to week. This is a young team so I expected a bit of a sloppy game just hope the whole season dosnt go this way.

Yea really. My dad who is a Jet fan was even stunned by that. We didnt know how no1 got there being the ball was in the air a good 5 seconds before it came down and he was still wide open.

Indeed. It might have been sloppy but with 30 seconds left in the 4th quarter, and we are in good range to score a game winning TD, talk about excitement.

This loss prolly gets us a few picks higher in the draft! :(
Doubt it. I will say that the Jet's defense is not as bad as alot of people make them out to be. Brett Favre however throws alot of prayer passes and that will hurt the Jets. But i say we trade a 2nd for Boldin, we do that and we're looking at playoffs very soon. I do think we "upset" the jets in NY in our 2nd game this year.

and I lost 100 Bucks to my dad who is a diehard Jet fan :(. Can't believe some of the threads I'm seeing out there today, might have to stay away from Finheaven for a day
