You may say that I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one!!
I like the way you think. I think i'll wait and see how we look when the games count

the afc east and nfc south are both tough

True, but how do we end up with THE most difficult schedule of anybody. If they can find an easier one for the pats they could find one for us.

I hope you're right. That would be awesome and Miami definitely has the skill players on offense to make some noise and still a pretty solid defense. I just don't see it coming together so quickly, not with the schedule, all the changes in personnel, a new philosophy, lack of depth, and so many question marks. It's possible. It's the NFL afterall, but I think 5-7 wins is more realistic. And although I'd rather see a playoff run, another down year might turn out to be okay in the long run. It could give the team a chance at a franchise qb or a franchise LT, two of its biggest needs.

and then you woke up?:D

because the pats face us (a 4-12 team) twice, and we face the pats (a 14-2 team) twice. that's a big difference

Hey John are you married to a lady named Yoko?? I am hoping for the playoffs too...but I am gonna be realistic and say we go 7-9. Next year we win the Superbowl. :)

Superbowl next year? I thought you wanted to be realistic?

not a chance in hell. we have a completely new coaching staff and some young players at key positions. we're in the toughest division in the tougher conference. plus the league's toughest schedule. playoffs? c'mon....
I agree with everything but the toughest schedule part. That is based on last years record. Well half our team is new this year, whole new coaching staff and systems so how is last year relevant to the strength of our team this year. There is so much turnover every year and injuries to key players that nobody can use last year as a barometer of how tough the schedule really is. Will Pitt be 12-4 again - no way in hell. Will SD be 12-4 - no way in hell. Teams like this realy skew a projection like this. Wait til the games start to really judge how good teams are. Look at Oak last night - PFT had Oak in the SB - no way in hell. But right now everything is a projection with little basis until the games start to count.

I predict the team will be much better at the end of the year then they are at the start. The defense will keep the team in most games, and probably make for a few upsets. The AFC is loaded, I don't think the Phins are a playoff team.

8-8 is what i'm hoping for - but it will be tough. we have the toughest schedule in the league.

That's my most optimistic. I've been in teh 6-8 win range but that's not a huge prediction (2 game error for a 16 game season). But I'd be lying if I said I could pinpoint it closer...nobody can. I guess it's obvious if I had to pick a number it would be 7. But I could not argue people thinking we have a fair shot at a 500 season.

I think we all know that whatever the record, we will be better in the latter part of the season, springing new hope for next year baby!
