The Dolphins selected Brain Hartline in the 4th Round of the 2009 NFL and many of us were shocked and wondered why we would reach so high on this guy. Players such as Duke Robinson and Shawn Nelson were prime for the picking but out front office decided that Brian Hartline was the guy. I ripped this pick and Hartline is making me look like a fool; and Mel Kiper; and Todd McShay. During training camp the rave reviews were drawn from our 3rd rounder out of USC Patrick Turner and we heard little about Hartline but the truth is that he was the only player that impressed me on the offensive side of the ball last night. The offensive pass interference call he drew in the 1st Quarter was a a terrible call. He had 3 catches for 79 yards including a 55 yarder which set up the only touchdown of the game which was caught by Anthony Fasano on a marvelous play by #10. Hartline also drew penalties on the Buccs secondary as he really seem to put the fear into the Tampa secondary.

Hartline hasn't done squat that counts yet but I am apologizing to him publicly b/c big things are coming.

Not going to lie I was really pulling for turner to be that guy this year, that came out of nowewhere and became a force.

Heartline to me wasnt even a 2nd thought, oh well. Dolphins keep drafting in two's, your strategy is working.

He's definately better than I thought but I'd still prefer Camarillo as the #2 if he's healthy, call that homerism loyalty though as I can't help but think of that catch that kept us from going winless. Also that play he had last night where he stopped himself from going out of bounds, slipped the tackle and headed upfield was a thing of beauty.

Honorable thing to do. I too thought it was a bad pick. I hope that he proves us all wrong through out the season.

Yea, it's funny though the 2nd player they pick seems to always be outperforming the 1st....... D Thomas over Murphy, Langford over Merling, and for right now at least Smith over V Davis. Although Smith did have his struggles last night and Davis IMO played well..... one thing you gotta love about Davis is his tackling ability, i don't think i've seen him miss a tackle yet even in the open field.

Brian "Big-Play" Hartline was giving those buc DB's fits. I like seeing him get open early and often he looked like might be a dangerous deep threat. He has deceptive speed and if he keeps it up he could take some of those rolled coverages off Ginn every play.

The way this thing is going it looks like Turner might be demoted to the last wr spot (5th).

I like hartline too, I think he could be like an Anthony Gonzalez type but he didn't do too well against the first team DB's. All of his catches were on the 2nd team (as well as the penalties he drew).

I do think he's a lot like camarillo but faster.

The thing that concerns me about Camarillo....he wasn't everly fast to begin with, but I don't know if it's his knee not being completely healthy or the injury just cost him that much speed, the way he got run down on that long gainer last night was ugly.

Turner....at this point to me is a situational red-zone player. It usually takes rookie WR's so time to learn the ins and outs, so for now I will give him a pass. Hartline was definately a good pickup.

Totally agree - also thought I saw his knee give on the break on that same pass on the replay...not sure if it was the injured knee. And the run after the catch was downright sad...poor chap knew he was gonna get caught quickly from behind. A valiant effort, but he's not ready yet. I think he knows (and the team knows) he starts on PUP.

I was surprised by the selection of Hartline to begin with as well. Now, I can see why they like him. In fact, Hartline was one of the many WR's that Chad Henne worked out with when he went on scouting trips before the Draft with Bill & Jeff. Apparently, Henne liked Hartline the most out of all those guys.

I'll never argue with Jeff Ireland again. Until the next time I disagree with him, of course.

:lol2: I feel like this was similar to a time I said to a friend, "C'mon man, you know I'm always right... except when I'm wrong... otherwise, I'm always right!"
