I'm tired of seeing Henne and Moore take all the snaps in the preseason. I'm sure a lot of us would like to see Devlin get a real chance (and I don't mean playing 2 minutes or throwing 2 passes against Atlanta). Why did we pickup Devlin if we are not going to give him any chance. Bad enough we pickup Journeyman O'connell to take up even more of Devlin's snaps in practice and games.

The only quarterback competition that this team brought in is for 3rd spot--we don't need that! Why are we wasting his time and career? Many other teams wanted him and would have given him a chance. We promised him, that if he signed with us, he would have a chance to compete for starting job--but we lied, they barely give him any reps at practice and don't even let him play in the preseason (this is preseason). Don't tell me that he is sucking at practice, because I hear he's doing as well as anyone with his limited reps (oh yeah, and I hear Moore only sucks at practice). Please don't tell me, "oh we'll put him on the practice squad"--that is basically saying we are done with him.

I wouldn't mind so much of him getting limited snaps as long as they keep him on the roster so that he can progress and get a chance---but now he has to compete with the "Journeyman" without getting playing time in practice or games (not to mention the lockout shortened camp).

What is our franchise plan? Just ride Henne every year because we can't do anything else, and just bring in average Journeymen to beat out our rookies with potential.

Everyone was complaining when we signed Moore...now everyone is hoping he will be our savior, and if not, then maybe the Journeyman O'Connell. I'll tell you, if we end up going to Moore, and then to O'Connell, then by that time our season will be crap, and we will have nothing for next but more crap.

Sorry for going on fellas....we had a good game, but aside from the first half the game was very disappointing.

Who did we promise that we would let them compete for a starter's position?

Are you being serious right now? In case you haven't noticed, the point of football is to win a superbowl and not waste precious practice time on some player who cannot even complete passes in practice. Devlin will get a shot when he can show something in practice, which he has barely been doing.

How can he show something in practice when he barley gets any reps in practice. Didn't Sporano say that Moore is not very good in practice? We'll never win a superbowl they way we are going with quarterbacks.

Maybe if he was better in practice he would get more reps.

So, you want a UDFA to get more playing time. We have had vitually no TC, limited preparation, new OC, new RB's, new centre and you want to take out the starting QB, as unpopular or inept as people think, you want our starting qb to sit on the sidelines & let Devlin play more.

The FO has hitched it's wagon to Henne for one more year. If he falters by week 10, Moore & Devlin will get there chances.

If Devlin was any good, he would have been drafted early, & got his playing time.

why can't we give a thread ZERO stars??? This is horrible, delete this mess.

Oh, by now you must know that I just love noobies with less than 30 days in as an FH member and under 60 posts automatically having the privilege to start new useful 1-star threads which aside from saying "look at MEEEE, I'm here" regurgitate the SOS secreted through countless threads elsewhere. We are truly blessed.

Look, the NFL isn't based on just "go out in the preseason and win the job". Many times the job is already won or lost by where you are drafted. Scouting is a big part of where you are projected in this league. Not saying Devlin won't ever be anything . . . but with a QB starved league and 7 rounds of the draft passing, and the guy isn't drafted . . . does that "look like a guy" who is going to come in and start over 2 veterans? Highly unlikely. Combine the shortened offseason and it is very unreasonable to expect him to win any jobs this year.

We are implementing a new system, we need Chad Henne to get as many reps as possible and get some cohesion with his OLine, and his new toy Reggie Bush. Why would we waste these precious snaps on getting Devlin some time? You do understand that Tom Brady was a SIXTH round pick . . . had a full offseson . . . was FOURTH on the depth chart at the beginning of the season . . . and worked his way up through practice to the #2 spot on the Depth chart. Nothing is given to anybody.

And Matt Moore needs snaps too. He wasn't here, he has experience, we have had two situations in the past 2 season where we had to see the #3 QB be put into the game due to injuries. Wouldn't it be nice to see Matt Moore get some reps as well?

I honestly would prefer a experienced #3 over a UDFA, even O'Connel isn't the answer. I'm checking the cuts looking for a guy. I think Devlin could be put on the practice squad and nobody is gonna touch him, but if there is concern, keep him as the #3 unless he truly hasn't looked good. I don't put much stock in to good reports on backup QB's for the Fins, because there is such an agenda to **** on Henne right now, people tend to report that way to make him look negative and boost up the performance of other QB's.

You can't get mad with Sparano for not giving Devlin more burn, maybe he is trying to hide him from the scouts in attendance so he can sneak him on the PS. You don't know.

You can't be serious. The abbreviated offseason has really limited the ability of this year's rookie class to make any kind of significant contribution. I'm sure though that some rookies will end up making contributions this year. However, to expect an UDFA QB to come in and compete for a starting spot, in any year and especially this year, is silly at best.

i was thinking they would at least give Devlin a quarter to work with or even O'Connell was surprising to see Moore all second half the rationale was to get Moore ready in case henne falters. I like moores deep passes little more than henne but Moore struggled this game. Devlin looks like he is heading to the practice squad not a bad place for him kid has a lot to learn and has potential if worse came to worse they could call him back up by not showcasing him in preseason games the dolphins almost guarantee themselves of keeping him.

Why would anyone else get a chance when we have the check down king running the show?

this is just mere speculation... maybe their plan is to put Devlin on the PS and they don't want teams to get a serious look at him.
