We are actually signing some of the guys that I thought would be very good pickups Starks, Smiley and Wilford. The only suprise is how much these players are costing.

Justin Smiley G 5 years 25 million. My favorite signing of a guard I have been asking us to get for about 2 years now. Still seems kind of high for a player coming off of injury that had not dominated. Still very glad we got him.

Randy Starks DT/DE 5 years 21 million A player I really think will be a star but he had 16 tackles last year. Thrilled to sign him but he has a great agent.

Ernest Wilford WR 4 years 13 million. For a Wr that had 45 catches last year. Damn what kind of money is Bryant johnson worth if Wilford is worth this much. Good guy to have but should be a number three and getting paid more than that.

Josh McCown Qb 2 years 6.25 million. Seems a bargain in comparism to the
some of the others. Was probably top free agent out there due to age, health and talent at QB. Probably was a lot of competition for him.

I guess inflation has kicked in. Im excited to add new players but to say we are geniuses or idiots at this point is a little premature. There has been no home run and no strike out . For people to pump thier chest or curse at the stars over this free agency just leaves me scratching my head.

I will say its good to see us involved in some signings on day one, I liked some loathed some and could care less about some. Can we though please dispense with the Parcells is such a genius talk for two reasons 1. Nothing mind blowing about our signings, they could be nice but seriously you get excited too easy lol. 2. Jeff Ireland is the GM last I heard.

The free agent market is thin and teams have a lot of cap room. If you don't overpay, you don't buy...and if we don't buy, we're 0-16 this year.

The money isn't bad when you break it down...but the idea was to get bigger and younger and for the most part...Parcells and Co. has done that. This is not a sprint as you know...it's a marathon....it kind of reminds me of the old days when the GM and finally Shula rebuilt the 70's Dolphins.

You have to look at guaranteed money, not overall value of the contract. Most NFL players never see the end of contracts.

Thats why teams stay in cap hell. But irregardless 7 million guaranteed for a player of Starks production is kind of high.

we need talent and our roster needed retooling and it is one day, I came home put on phinheaven and seen all the signings, i had to ask my wife if they signed her

miami has gone off the deep end in a far far far away ocean with their mindset. I have been a dolphin fan for many years and these past 24 hours have questioned me alot.

IMO
Hadnot is better than Smiley
Wilford and Booker are the same player with Booker maybe slightly better
He is not worth 3 million a year and neither is Smiley at 5 a year.. The player we got from Tennesse is a joke pickup...7 million guarantee for a player who didnt do anything.. I don't know what's going on in Miami right now..

signing a bunch of solid guys is a good way to start helping this roster. We probably paid a bit more than most of us would like but in 2 years they will look like bargains if they are starters like it looks like they will be.

I believe all in all this Team took a BIG STEP FORWARD TODAY.

and when our rookies int he ntext 2-3 years step in we will have very good depth and if not we can cut the FA ppl taht dont work. Its a great foundation cuz almost 75% of em are in the mid to somewhat late 20's.

Unbelievable how people can bash today. Randy Starks is 24 years old with a ton of potential. Smiley is a much better guard than Hadnot. Rex might be one of the most overrated players...take it from a coach. He is not physical enough and does not move well enough. Ferguson at least gives you a starter at NT...You didn't have one before yesterday. Torbor and Anderson are young and have some potential. Personally I like Wilford and liken him to Oronde Gadsden.

i think we got a of really good players and players that will help this franchise win again in a few years and for more than a year. we spent money but thats what you do in fa and i think they were smart deals. but i do have to day the Reggie Torbor deal was a little high than i would of hoped.

I don't know what's going on in Miami right now..
What is going on right now in Miami is some good decision making. The players they signed are solid, though admittedly hardly spectacular. I think they'll help the team collectively more than signing two or three top-dollar FAs (which would leave the FO little money to fill the 4-6 other gaping holes) would have. The days of quick fixes and band-aids are over; the overhaul has begun.

Bro I think some will be starters, and others will be role players, and helping with the draft picks that will be coming in. We have an awful lot of holes to fill, so we can't spend it in all in one spot with a big name. If we could land Michael Turner that would be great. Let's hope for the best.:hi5:
