Alright, so there are a ton of terrible forum topics right now so I was hoping to get a thread started about my personal reviews and hopefully some decent other ones to read instead of, WISH WE HAD BREES OR CAN'T BELIEVE WE DRAFTED A PRO BOWL:boohoo:, FRANCHISE LEFT TACKLE INSTEAD OF MATT RYAN!!:rolleyes2:

Defensively we played good.

The d line looked great and Merling played a fantastic game, the LB's never got enough pressure though. Great run support from the entire team. Every was stopping Turner in his tracks. He had no chance to fight through those tackles. That Crowder hit was NASTY. Got low, picked him up and slammed him down like everyone should do.

Besides the run support we didn't get enough penetration, the LB's did nothing on passing plays, they seemed lost, in some sort of zone or blitzing poorly in my opinion.

Our CB's played fairly well and were beat on some great throws by Ryan but all in all Ryan only had an average game. If Bell hadn't lost his tackling ability for the game and if someone else was on Gonzales all game, we might've won. Hold them to a FG.. A couple drives stop short with no Gonzales in there.. Some more plays to get a flow on offense maybe? Not really his fault, Sean Smith should've been put on Gonzales and Davis should've went to the 2nd CB slot. And have the LB's play better zones or blitz in better packages don't you think this could've been a close game? Smith could not tackle Gonzales but he could keep him from getting the ball..

GREAT hit by Vontae Davis though on the WR screen. Charged in and laid him out and didn't get up and show off for making a play he's paid to do.. Impressed on that =D

The terrible offensive play now..

Chad Pennington didn't look good today, he played pretty poorly and never attempted anything down field at all. He is a good QB, fits our system and keeps the ball on our side most of the time. We always win ToP but today we lost it through TO's. But really, Henne? He's terrible, I watched him at MI and he never, ever impressed me. Arm strength? Alright, so do a ton of third stringers in the NFL, accuracy is what makes you great. He's not even close to Pennington's level yet. And the throw by Pat White was terrible but give him a few more shots, adrenaline did it for sure and it's Ted Ginn. You had better not underthrow the guy. I'm much happier that he didn't throw an INT than an incompletion.

Our RB's never did too well but they never had much of a whole or anything, Ricky looked good on the outside but I am 100% sure Ronnie Brown is still our best RB and a top RB in the league, he's always given the ball up the middle and expected to run behind our line that is never good with the run. Why do you think in the wildcat when he takes it outside the tackles and owns guys he looks so good!? Throw him the ball more also.

WR's suck. Ginn still hasn't shown me anything and it can only mean that his route running is poor. He has some agility and great speed, maybe he's usually pressed, I'm not sure.. maybe the lack of any other passing threats keeps him double teamed.. not sure. Brian Hartline is a great player off the bench, get Bess the ball more and Cam looked good on that one catch haha.

Fasano played poor but oh well, he had a great year last year and I hope he recovers well.

Offensive line was terrible. Long is a great tackle and a veteran just made him look terrible. Give them a few weeks I guess and stop overrating Donald Thomas...

ST......eh. =[

It will all get better, our D showed promise, TE's might kill us on defense and our o-line needs to stop up..that's about it. One game guys! 15 more to play, we are an average team like I said all along, don't expect so much and you won't be on the trade bandwagon after 1 week.:aww:

Come on, really? Because it's a longer more in depth, unbiased opinion you guys won't comment? 75 views..

ginn showed me that he can get open and beat the cb's but penington cant get it to him cuz his arm is too weak.

other then that yea i agree we need to get ronnie brown more running plays other then just running in the middle how about even a damn HB screen? and use his pass catching and running ability?

Just wondering why White deserves more shots. I would like to see Henne come in when we are down 19-0. I think they are trying to justify taking white so high so whether he has earned it we will throw him on field and see what happens.

You guys did a great job of stacking the box to stop Turner and the running game. The Dolphins have a great front 7. But by doing that you let Tony G have one-on-one coverage and he had a good day. Pick your poison I guess.

I disagree with the assumption that Ginn's route running was poor. It's not fair to just jump to that conclusion because of a lack of passes towards him since we couldn't see what was happening at the edges of the field. Multiple people who were at the game posted that he was creating separation but just not getting the passes.

I agree. I mean there was all that Wildpat talk and that was the best they could come up with.

Just wondering what Henne did in the preseason to deserve a shot?!?! He did hit a 350lb nose tackle right in the numbers against Tampa and was sacked several times. He was given a lot of reps and has shown nothing worthy of playing! If this season becomes a wash then I would like to see him start so it can be determined if he is the QB of the future. We started slow last year so there is no need to get crazy yet!

He played better than White and his 5 yard completions for no points at all. Thats my point.

Yeah, exactly what I'm thinking, he's our best offensive player and he only got like 12 touches.. And after a few TO's you go to your solid running game that was only geting 4 yards every carry with nothing spectacular UNTIL you tire out their defense with ToP and run a big one home, PA, and RB screens! We need to start out running every play and open it up with PA. If they blitz hard run PA screens. Actually ATL did it to us and scored on a FB flat route.....
I am now hearing Ginn had separation but Pennington missed him. Well, I guess you have to look at it from Pennington's position. He was being rushed every play and you start a play off with 2-3 guys in mind. Normally he looks towards the TE's and slot receivers for short yardage, then either a flat or WR. That's just how our offense is set up. I'm not mad at him besides the awareness really.

Yes, that was a missed observation on my point.

If Pat White can hit Ginn on deep routes, and throw off the defense with PA, options, receiving, passing, running, and smart play then by all means, play him a drive or 2 a game!

Well what I was hoping for was a LB playing him short in a zone and Sean Smith to come over cover him man to man all day. Our safeties can't guard a talent like that. It seemed to be poor coaching IMO.

Your review lost all credibility when you said ted ginn showed you nothing. Your the type of fan that simply looks at the stats and complains, watch the game, he was open on many plays and getting seperation on many plays. I love chad but he is not able to hit him on deep balls, and pat white overthrew him. Stop blaming ginn, so sick of you dumb*** fans.
