Round 1, Pick 1:
Glenn Dorsey, DT, LSU - As far as run defenses go, we were the worst. We allowed, on average, 153.5 yards per game. We need someone who will make people think twice about running the ball against us. Glenn Dorsey can do that as well as improve our pass rush from the interior. And with our new defensive coordinator Paul Pasqualoni being known to run a mix of the 3-4 and 4-3, he could be used as both a 3-4 end and 4-3 tackle.
Round 2, Pick 1 (also known as the pseudo Round 1, Pick 32):
Beau Bell, LB, UNLV - What you get with Bell is someone who could play both inside and outside linebacker. Either way, he would help our linebacking corps. He brings speed and the ability to both rush the passer and suport the runner.
Round 2, Pick TBD:
Terrell Thomas, CB, USC - Will Allen is a great number two. But we need a number one cornerback. Terrell Thomas is very fast and very physical, with the ability to play the pass and the run. He also has the ability to play cornerback and safety, which adds versatility to our secondary.
Round 3, Pick 1:
Jermichael Finley, TE, Texas - A tight end is supposed to be a young quarterback's best friend. Unfortunately, this hasn't been the case for John Beck. David Martin didn't strive as much as I thought he would. Enter Finley, who has the ability to stretch the field and is a great receiving tight end. He could be the big target that could help Beck develop.
Round 4, Pick 1:
Carl Nicks, OT, Nebraska - At 6-5, 330 pounds, this guy is monster. He is, however, is project since he only started his last year. He does come with athleticism and strength, and the talent and tools are there.
Round 5, Pick 1:
Traded to Kansas City for QB Trent Green.
Round 6, Pick 1:
Paul Hubbard, WR, Wisconsin: This wishful think. I'd put him as a fifth rounder, but we don't have one. Anyway, this wide receiver measures in at 6'4", 213 lbs. He has great hands and has good speed. He might drop to this round due to only playing five games this season.
Round 7, Pick 1:
Caleb Campbell, SS, Army - I've heard this guy's name a lot. He's been a great strong safety with the Army and he'd be a great one with Miami. He has some speed and is a hard hitter. He'd be right at home with Yeremiah Bell and Jason Allen.
