At first I was mad about it, it sure looked like a way to sucker fans into buying more tickets. But the more I look at it, the more I like it. I mean who knows more about football ? A guy who lined up under center for 17 years, and arguably the greatest QB ever to play the game, or a guy who learned about football in accounting class ? Dan bleeds aqua and orange, he will do ANYTHING to make this team compete at the highest level. That kind of passion is invaluable in the front office. I always accused H. Wayne of just caring about the money, like when he dismantled the Marlins after 1997 WS, but Dan wants a RING.
As for Spielman, I believe that he wanted Boldin in the draft and Wanny overruled him and took Moore. So now Rick has the final say, I'm willing to bet Wanny talked him out of some other draft picks and players over the years.
So I like the new front office look and can't wait for the offseason to begin.
