So I'm reading about how some of the fans are unhappy about all the celebs coming onboard as minority owners. I read the thread that said they could be buying in for anywhere between 5 and 20 million. Then by some miracle an idea popped into my head.

The CBA is up after this season. Now providing there is no lockout or strike 2010 is played without a salary cap. If we are getting all these minority owners now, isn't Ross just pumping in more money that could be used on salary next year?

I know he wants to get these celebs for publicity reasons and to attract more fans. But every business man always has another agenda the public doesn't know about whether good or bad.

Thoughts?

I would say Ross is trying to pay off Mr. H. afterall, Mr. H is carrying the 2nd part of Ross payment for the team.. Ross hasn't fully paid Mr. H for the team, so he's finding investors to help pay that debt off. That's what this is pure and simple, so for ppl to make such a fuss over this is illogical.. as it's stated, it a limited partnership..not a full partnership..basically Mr. H. sill own over half the team when you add in what he's carrying plus his 5%.. Ross is trying to change that..by getting these limited partnership, he can use the money to pay off Mr. H..and own the team outright..

Minority Owners

I'm of the opinion that it's not a big deal that Serena and Venus Williams are minorities. Maybe that's just how I feel. :chuckle:

its all a bit of a circus act IMO. Ross looks like a clown anyway...

Ross is in real estate, he needs money. Its simple.

Attila the Hun can be minority owner for all I care, as long as they don't interfere with football operations.

If Ross wants to put butt's in the seats, no celebrity can replace winning.
