For those of you that know my background, I had a meeting with Chris Collinsworth and a few friends. I am sharing this just for your info.......fun night too. We had dinner in Cincy with Terry martin, Sabres's wing from the late 70's. he was a 76 draft choice from a Stanley Cup team I believe.......ANYWAY.........the idea is the Fins are seriously looking at Brady Quinn, Because he fits well with Cam's Scheme and C pep does not.Trading up may be an option pending how the draft plays out with trades possible;ie.....Harrington..... Also, Ricky is never going to see mini camp.............GM is going to dump him.
Really good inside info.....I don't know how or what trades will take place, but the desire is no C pep and no Ricky..........Seriuos info......details will follow....please do not post in any forums.

 Best news, if true, I've heard in a long time!

I wonder if Culpepper, Harrington, and/or Ricky Williams have ANY value on the trade market? Also what would be the dead cap money issue if any or all of them were released and/or traded?

The information is interesting but is it truly "inside" or the informed speculations of a sportscaster? I suppose we will have to watch the off-season to discover what happens. Thanks for the post, it is good fuel for discussion.

Interesting stuff, I would think you would want to see what Culpepper and Ricky can do in Mini camp and then maybe trade them.

Culpepper does not upset me if so, I never really liked or wanted him.
Williams kind of shocks me.

This could be Cam trying to put his stamp on the team I guess.

Lemon starting and Quinn as backup?

By the way, doesn't Lemon play very much the same way as Culpepper?

I agree with you, Rev. I just don't see us trading up with any of these players. It might mean that we are loosing draft picks again this year which is becoming a trend with any coach Miami employs. :shakeno:

 Unfortunate but true. What are our draft picks this year - what rounds/numbers?

I would think so too. I would truly be disappointed if Daunte was traded before actually playing under Cam. I don't know what we could get in a trade for Daunte right now, but there are some teams ahead of us that could use a proven QB.

I've had a feeling Mueller wouldn't want anything to do with Ricky, given Ricky's past suspensions, and their history at N.O. But, to to outright cut him would still suck. I mean, Ricky at least could garner a conditional 5th or 6th. Don't tell me Denver wouldn't throw a conditional 2nd day pick at us for Ricky. It would have to be for the '08 draft, at the earliest, but he's worth something on a conditional basis.

IDK, if Lemon plays like Daunte. I know he has less of an arm, and hasn't proven much if anything. I am intrigued with his future, but if this happens I guess we'll all know just how highly Cam thinks of Cleo.

By that I meant similar style of play. GRT8's intel says Culpepper does not fit Cam's style on offense, yet I see Lemon playing with the same style. He uses his feet much the same why Culpepper does in the pocket and uses them to by time to throw the pass much like Culpepper. So if Culpeppers style does not fit Cam's, why does Lemons????

What's the status of quarterback Daunte Culpepper?
New coach Cam Cameron has to find out where Culpepper and his damaged knee are in terms of progress. Then he has to decide how he can build his offense around him -- or if he can. Culpepper looked lost when he played last season. The knee injury was still a factor, but they don't have a lot of options other than him.

I just don't know. I do agree with you that Lemon is reminiscent of Daunte. Maybe "style" is code for "brains"?
I hate to say it, but it's not like Daunte has some kind of unique physical style of play that would limit an offense. We're not talking about a statue like Bledsoe, or a scatter shot arm like Vick. Daunte can do it all, physically. If this is true about Daunte's "style not fitting, I just see no way around "style" meaning brains.

I wouldn't be too concerned if all of this went down exactly like GRT8 said....makes sense if Miami is truly looking to change that ol' image thang.

We have one in every round but the fifth. As to the numbers, don't even try until the compensatory picks come out because all the numbers after the first three rounds change anyway!

Whew. I was starting to think I was the only one not looking forward to this. It just kills me when I think he's coming from Pluto with one of those theories, and then something happens to lend it credence.
He's a good guy, but man :wall:

Okay, it was late and I was tired, so I will elaborate a little. Chris didn't say " in my opinion" he said he had conversations with a colleague close to the situation.Cam and Mule Wanting and being uable to unload players may be two seperate issues.....we'll see.

IMO it is too early to imagine Cam making a evaluation that decisive on Daunte.
