First, thanks to all for your insight and updates that keeping me in the loop. Media bias & geography work against me. I have been wondering about this off & on for a few days. Keep in mind its still relatively early Sunday a.m. here.
It obvious its time to kick both D Thomas' to the curb.

After some work w/ Excel, I have arrived at the following...

3 QB's, 5 RB's (Damien Williams, Moreno, Miller, Hoskins, & Gillislee), 4 TE's (Brackett, Clay, Sims, Lynch) & 5 WRs (Wallace, Hartline, Landry, Matthews, & Gibson) feasible?

That leaves room for the 3 on ST, 9 OL, 9 DL, 9 DB's & 6 LB (Tripp, Jenkins, Misi, Ellerbee, Wheeler, & McCain)

Landry and Damien Williams to handle returns? Goodbye Thigpen.

**dump the 3rd QB if Zombo (OLB) is released by the Chiefs. If Royster get released by the skins then Gillislee is shown the door.

Have to keep Damian Williams. I see zero reason to roster Gillislee over him. It'd help if you typed out the names for the positions. Of what's typed out, the rest is good - with the exception that I'd expect one of Lynch or Bracket to go.

Hoskins is a tight end.

Gillislee and Thomas are in trouble. We won't know anything till after the 4th game.

I think Thigpen makes it because Landry and Damian Williams haven't shown much on returns.

I am having keyboard & resulting patience issues. I just decided to go w/ the positions that are more likely to be tweaked.

Hoskins is a tight end.

Clay & Gator are H-Backs and could be listed as RB's or TE's.

Hoskins is not a RB. Don't think we keep 5 RBs either. If so, I would replace Hoskins, who is a TE, with Thigpen and Gillislee with Darkwa. I think Hoskins makes it over Lynch or Brackett. I don't think we keep 3 QBs unless someone decent is cut by another team. Brady Quinn stinks and Seth Lobato would be lucky to be on the PS. Either Thigpen or Damian Williams has to make the team. Not impressed so far with Landry returning kickoffs.

Yes but he won't be kept as a rb. Makes no sense. We have tons of tbs and hardly any good TEs.

Damien Williams, Lamar Miller, Knowshon Moreno, Mike Gilleslee - Gator Hoskins, Brett Backett, Arthur Lynch, Charles Clay, Dion Sims.

That's too backs and tight ends. Can you explain why you think the teams needs so many of each? It seems like a waste of roster space to me.

Agreed. Williams has played well, and that was solid work on the deep ball from Moore.

It is time to let Thomas go. I just do not see additional growth from him. Gillis lee might still improve.

If your other backs went down today and Miami had a choice of starting Danial Thomas or Mike Gillislee it's not even close, you go with Thomas. I wouldn't keep Gillislee based on future potential because I don't think he or Thomas would be on the roster after this season anyway. If you cut Thomas next week, which there's good chance it will happen, I might just go with three backs on the 53 man roster (Moreno, Miller and Williams). You might put Gillislee on the practice squad but not on the roster.

I think only two quarterbacks will be kept in Tannehill and Moore. I hope Hoskins makes it because he shows game changing ability and Miami doesn't have much after Clay at tight end. I still think a tight end could be added from another team.

How I see it:

QB
Tannehill
Moore

RB
Moreno
Miller
Williams
Darkwa (PS)
we may pick up a guy from other teams who have strong RB situations (Buffalo, Dallas, ect)

TE
Clay
Simms
Hoskins (they said clay clone)
Miller
Lynch (PS)

OL
Albert
Colledge
Satele
Smith
James
Pouncey
Garner
Turner
Brenner
Thomas (they will keep for depth and particularly if Pouncey goes on PUP)

WR
Wallace
Hartline
Gibson
Matthews
Landry
Willams

WRs:
1) Mike Wallace
2) Brian Hartline
3) Brandon Gibson
4) Jarvis Landry
5) Rishard Matthews
6) Damian Williams

TEs:
1) Charles Clay
2) Dion Sims
3) Gator Hoskins

RBs:
1) Knowshon Moreno
2) Lamar Miller
3) Damien Williams
4) Mike Gillislee

Practice Squad:
1) RB Orleans Darkwa
2) TE Arthur Lynch

We'll mainly go with 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 RB sets.

Predictions for the 53-man roster are fun to read, but if you want to do this correctly, I think you really need to make it a 50-man prediction, not 53.

As soon as Hickey releases the 53-man roster on cut-down day, he is going to immediately begin culling through the lists of cuts from other teams, looking for a few acorns. For each one he signs, he will have to cut someone from his original list of 53. I would guess he is going to sign at least 3 guys to the roster, who are not currently in a Dolphins uniform. It seems to me that the Dolphins could really use (at least) one more O Lineman (Dallas Thomas is going to get Tannehill killed, not sure if carrying Brenner on the roster this year gives the Dolphins any value other than he is cheap), a TE (Hoskins is a good story, but I'd like to see him on the PS for a year), and a RB (Moreno really showed last night what we've been missing, and need more of, hope they keep Darkwa on the PS for a year). I wish the Dolphins could pick up another LB, but that could be tough, given that they have so much money tied up in a few of their underperforming LB's.

I am by no means an expert - I'm a fan and a bit of a homer too at times but here are my thoughts on the opening 53. I haven't included any thought on other teams possible cuts because they don't exist yet.

Offence

2 qbs - Tannehill and Moore
10 OL - Albert, Coleridge, Pouncey, Satele, James, Thomas, Smith, Fox, Turner and Garner.
4 - TEs - Clay, Sims, Lynch, Hoskins
4 Rbs - Miller, Moreno, Williams, Darkwa
6 - Wrs - Wallace, Harline, Landry, Gibson, Wiliams, Mathews

Notes - They may PUP Pouncey and if they do they will pull someone from another team for the first 6 weeks. Hoskins and Darkwa are definitely uncertain at this point. I feel we will protect them from the PS - they may not make the active roster every week but they have put in the effort at positions of need during the Practice season.

Defence

9 Dl - Wake, Vernon, Odrick, Starks, Mitchel, Shelby, Johnson, Frances, Fede
6 LB - Misi, Ellerby, Wheeler, Jenkins, Tripp, MCcain.
5 CB - Grimes, Finegan, Davis Aikins, tripp
4 S - Delmas, Wilson, Jones, Thomas.

# SP (SET) Fields, Denney and A Kicker

The team will have to decide who is gone once Jordan and Jones return after 4 weeks. I think it will be a RB and Thomas(S) I think A Johnson is on the 53 to protect him from the PS. Might not make the active roster every week.
