My thoughts about Vontae davis, our 1st round draft pick

Please don't chew me up for this but I know it may be a Lil to early to tell/say this but after watching Sean Smith Shut down Torry Holt, and stayed on him like white on rice, Sean smith will be a Great player for us for many years and after watching V. Davis give up so many yards on defense and get beat then have a Pass interference called on him, I'm starting to think maybe we should have got another player with that 1st round draft pick, like Hakeem nicks, Kenny Britt or somebody. What if Vontae Davis is a bust..........

its the first preseason game... at least give him more then one preseason game before callin him a bust
 
It is the FIRST preseason game. A little to soon for this.

The mistakes Vontae are making are dumb mistakes. Dumb, but correctable. I really like what I see in Sean Smith, but don't write Vontae off because of his play in one preseason game.
 
i was wondering about this because I can't remember...how good were surtain and madison their rookie year? I don't remember


davis and smith could be our new tandem for a logn time...
 
What a stupid thread.

Surtain didn't even start in his rookie year. And Madison took awhile.
 
I must admit Vonte appears to quite immature as best, a ******* like his brother at worst.

I hope he enjoys being a wedge buster this year if he doesn't get his head out of his buttocks.

Coming from a guy with his username as Sean Smith... Take it for what it is worth.

It's great that Sean Smith is working out so well right now. Let's hope he keeps it up for years to come. That's why you should not rush to even BEGIN to think about any of our rookie class as being bust. Today is today...the season is long, the career could be even longer.

Right now Sean is playing very solid. But who is to say that Davis is not out preforming him in the rest of the season. Hell I hope the 2 guys BOTH become our next Sam & Pat combo for years to come. They both have great skill sets and Smith could play Corner or Free Safety in the NFL.

Threads like this would lead be to believe that you would have thought John Elway was a bust AFTER his rookie season. He started out bad for a couple years with way TOO many INT's. It's a good thing that they did not jump ship on him...

Try another way to make Sean Smith look better than VD. I really don't care which one becomes great...I just want one of them to make it happen quickly!!!

he is only telling the truth some of these draft picks were not good of picks.

Eric Green must go , hell i will take a aged vet like surtain over green any day.

side note.

just beacus Parcells is here doesnt mean we will get better !

must have better productions from the wr corp . I know its the first game but still I dont see the improvement as the wr corp overall , we may have speed but the issue is still the same.
