Harrington came from a team with no direction, no front line and a horrible coaching staff. The management is in a competition with the Raiders as one of the worst managed teams in the NFL.

Harrington, IMO, has a raw talent that we will see develop in to a good solid QB under the Miami coaching staff. I think he see's that as well. I like his arm, though it's not the strongest out there, I just think he has a good touch with good fundamentals. He seems to me a smart QB with good (not great) defensive reading. He has some wheels to get out of trouble when he has to, and he's tough.

Any thoughts.

I love Harrington's potential, but you are talking about a guy who competed with Akili Smith and AJ Feeley at Oregon . . . so that definetly is a negative. He also played in a fairly weak division in which the Lions could not really do much in over the last couple of years . . . that is also a negative. The biggest thing I like about Harrington is that he has starting experience, and that is extremely valuable in this league. I also believe he didn't have the supporting cast in Detroit that he will have in Miami. Lets not kid ourselves, this guy can't take a game over by himself like a Culpepper, Mcnabb or Manning but if we surround him with guys that can perform I think he can lead us to a good season if CPep is not available. Sounds like I'm on the guy kind of hard . . . yes like I said I love the potential, but I have said that about other Oregon QB's and they have let me down . . lets hope Joey is different. All in All, he was the best possible option the Dolphins could acquire in the situation they are in, well worth the sixth round pick. Good job Saban & company.

I believe the lion's are the 80's verison of the buc's without the defense.Remember the QB hell tampa was in those day's (Willam's,Young,Testeverde) ring a bell.I hope he see's his chance here for a new start and am looking forward to finding out.I will not be surprised if he is not one of our biggest surprise's in pre season.Stranger thing's have happened in the NFL.My glass is usually half full.On a side note all you fin fan's out there have a safe and fun Memorial weekend.

I think everyone will be pleasantly surprised at how good Harrington can be. With the right coaching and supporting staff (any quarterback needs those two things) he can be a good to very good quarterback in this league.

I agree with everything you said. However, my only worry is will our boys get behind him when his number is called? That is, will he have their confidence, and respect?

He was a locker room outcast in Detroit. I couldn't care less about how nice he is or how he takes the "high road" during controversy. I care about how he connects with his team mates, which he couldn't do with his former team.

Now it could have been that discombobulated organization they call the Lions, and I'm hoping the change of address fixes everything. But it's still my biggest worry, especially since there is a good chance Daunte misses some time. Will our boys get behind Joey? I'm hoping.

I think Joey will be a great addition to our team, especially in the role of back up QB. I think with the right coaching, which he will get in Miami, he will turn his career around. My hope is, and always has been, that he will prove so valuable to us this year ( as a temporary starter) that some QB hungry team next year will offer us a 3rd or possibly even 2nd round draft pick for him. Talk about getting your value out of a backup!!!

Saban is really big on attitude and chemistry. I think he feels that JH's mind set is the same as everybody else's. I hope he got what he was looking for when he decided to come here. I think we got what we were looking for.

i think he will be a great back up and even starter when daunte has to rest when his knee swells up

It's just a worry in the back of my mind. That being said, I think we both got what we were looking for too.

I completely agree with you, but he has a pretty strong arm. Thats actually one of his best qualities. His defensive reading can improve. He said that there was no plan with the plays in detroit like there is in miami. There were no primary and secondary options or anything, it was just read the defense and throw where you think you should through. Thats tough on a QB; its amost setting you up for failure. I think he has alot of potential and can be groomed into probably the best backup QB in the league with potential to start for a 1/3-1/2 of the teams in the league.

He is smart,he has good fundementals and a good enough arm .

He never really liked the WCO they were asking him to run in Detroit so he may be a better fit for our offense

If at some point, he is needed to help this team win, and if the guys want to win, then they will support him and encourage him when he's in. I mean, they saw what happened in Detroit, they see how important it is to Joey that his teammates support him and not throw him under the bus. If Daunte can't play, then I think this team will be professional enough, and especially smart enough to get behind him and try to get him playing his best.
