*first off we are deeeeep at qb and honestly lemon can start in the nfl the guy is smart has a good arm and seems to be a leader and is calm in the pocket, harrington looked decent also.

*o-line did ok anderson still looks a little slow and out of shape, we will sign another center to back up hadnot, line is huge!

*kj harris played decent and i think he will make the team, ronnie is a beast he reminds me of payton the way he keeps fighting for more yards, he will be one of the best this year.

*who is cliff russell he can play, still not sold on vick (i hope to be) fred gibson showed some flashes.

*I watched roth alot he is doing good on pass rushing but seems to get caught up in some running plays, to me roth will make it he is just trying to hard to make a play and gets out of position some times.

*I like our new number29(allen) he will run up and make a tackle and has good speed. goodman is a player i like him alot and eddie jackson did good also.

*overall we dominated jville they got some big plays on our second string but i am happy with our 1st teams.

*also can we stop all the welker not making the team talk , the guy is a great return man and plays so smart.

First of all, Lemon played well, but lets slow down on starting in the NFL.

Second, 29 is GOODMAN, not Allen.

I agree with most of what you said. Here is a few things I noticed.

1. Vick did a good job in the game. He didn't have alot of catches or anything, but he did a good job blocking his man on running plays, he caught most of the catchable balls thrown to him, and he made a smart play letting the kick off go O.B.

2. W. Allen did good aside from the one play where Matt Jones beat him. I dont know if that was a breakdown with the saftey or what happend. Aside from that play though he looked pretty solid and very capable of starting with Daniels.

3. All the QB's looked pretty good, Harrington made a lot of good passes, Culpepper was throwing bullets. Not sure who's fault the Chambers pass was, it looked like Culpepper expected Chambers to keep going. Lemon also looked solid (dont know about being a starting QB though).

4. I though both lines looked solid. The O-Line did a good job stopping their front 4. The Jags had one of the best D's last year. Our D line looked solid all night long, didn't matter what string was in.

5. Overall I think the team did a pretty good job. There are going to be a lot of solid players on this team. Another great team accomplishment is I dont think our 1st string offense had any dumb penalties. Last year we had all kinds of false starts, holdings, anything else they could call. I'm pleased with this 1st game and really look forward to these guys going back out with a little more experience.

GO FINS!!

my bad allen is 25 sorry not use to #25 making plays lol

I'm witholding judgement until Jason Taylor plays with the team. The big pass plays won't happen as often with his presence on the field. This will allow some of the younger guys to play catch-up until they understand the schemes better. I think by midseason our "D" will be tremendous!

I was extremely pleased with the way our 1st string defense looked ..... 3 and out the first series and then 2 plays and an interception on the 2nd series ..... Harrington's TD pass to McMike was sweet! Can't wait for the season to start.
:dolphins:

My thought that have not been adressed in this thread

Rookies draft picks -

*Jason Allen, did a decent job, made a couple good tackles in run support. He looks like a real team player giving hi fives and gongrats to those who made good plays.

*I saw Fred Evan in the offensive backfide a lot! 1 sack and 1 tackle for a loss, looks like this kid may have some promise.

*Derik Hagan, you almost felt like the guy wasn't even on the field. I know he's been praised in camp and I know the couple of passes thrown his way were not the most on target but seems like he could have gotten more seperation, so I'll just chalk this one up as a bad game on his part. No catches and 1 PI... I'm not to impressed.

*Joe Toledo, decent job, but still very raw. Will most likely make the team but he has a couple of years before he makes any kind of impact on this line.

*Devin A, a nice kick return.. basically the only highlight for him on the night.

Special teams -
as a whole did an excelent jod!
Donnie Jones is gonna be an elite Punter in this league.
Ola Kimrin, has nice distance on his kicks but, no way is he taking Mare's job.

Misc -

(C) Wade Smith - I sure hope Hadnot stays healthy. It amazes me that this guy was our starting LT a few years back.

(CB) Mith Shirdonya - This guy got burnt on a few ocasion and was easily blocked against the run.

(S) Norman LeJeune - Played like crap. PI and a got burnt twice that I saw.

(WR's) Cliff Russell & Fred Gibson - If Saban had to make his decsion on the 5th WR after 1 pre-season game, I'd say Kelly Campbell your heated son. As of right now one of these two guys gets the #5 WR position.

Early in the game, Zach Thomas was a monster. Not sure if you guys noticed cause everyone expects him to play that way. I was happy to see he hasn't lost anything. :)

I was happy to see the young guys do well at times too. Looks like Saban may have done it again. Even Riggs looked good in flashes.

1. It's a little too early to be pumping up Lemon during the preseason. Remember, he's playing against a bunch of people that may not make the team.

2. I agree with Anderson, but I doubt we will sign another center.

3. Agree on all points.

4. Cliff might make this team, he's showed consistent success. I also think Vick makes this team.

5. Agree.

6. Allen is 25, not 29, and I also like Goodman. But, IMHO, Jackson was consistently bad and was burnt often.

I agree the first sting unit was strong. Our O line was Ok till the end of Lemon's run and throughout Berlins' time at QB when Jax's DL was in his face throughout the end of the fourth. By then the result was in hand though and do take into account this was the lowest rung of our talent out there.

All things considering Lemon did a fine job. Harrington considering his potential was fine; nothing special but did the job.

I don't agree on Allen though. Using TIVO I have stopped and looked at the Jones play. He got burnt pretty bad and seemed out of position anyway. In his defense there was no help in sight and he was basically asked to handle a huge WR all on his own. Also, I will go back and look at it again but was not Allen the nearest defender on the 61yd TD from Garrard to Owens for Jax?

As far as standouts on the starting O line kudos to Hadnot and Jones as they seem to be especially excelling vs. Jax D line in 1st half. I also noticed LJ Shelton getting good push against their line. Carey did not do anything exceptional but held his own.

Also, as far as catching the ball Russell showed good hands and was getting open. The dude is fighting for a spot and give him props for trying. I liked Vick as well. You could tell Jax was going out of their way to pay attention to him and that is a compliment to Vick as an athlete. He was getting open down the middle but as soon as he caught the ball there was a Jax defender insuring no YAC. I wished Hagan and Aroma. was more active. Too bad the only play of note involving Hagan was a PI that was his fault.

:yeahthat:

Zack was a main reason for the D's 3 consecutive 3 and outs. He played amazing and wreaked havoc on Byron and all over the field. Once he was pulled, the impact was realized immediately on our D. He needs to stay healthy this year. Tony Bosselli tried to make it sound like our first team D got burned, and yes, our secondary had a few starters in...but key starters were out during all thier scores. It was a very dominant performance by our first teams. Even our O, against that great defense, did pretty well. Ronnie Brown just scares me, he is so good and tough, but with his style, I hope he doesn't end up like Eddie George, and out of football prematurely for playing too hard.
