Sparano's future:
I think the Henne injury bought him another week or so, until we get a Cleveland Steamer by the Jets.
**** him anyway. I'm sick of his stupid excuses, his circus seal demeanor on the sidelines (remember those old Mickey Mouse cartoons where he had the pet seal in his house? Yeah, that's Tony Sparano), his clock management, and playing not-to-lose.
I don't know how much to pin on Ireland, primarily because you'd have to think he was shackled by Parcells calling the final shots, but it's not like he's exactly set the world on fire with his acquisitions. Think about it, can you honestly look at any of our acquisitions the last few years and go "Wow, that was a completely solid pickup, he's paying dividends everywhere, he came as advertised!" No, you can't. Every player comes with a "Yes, but..."
Marshall- He's a good WR, but he's got alot of problems, plus he couldn't catch AIDS in a Thai whore house if his life depended on it. Not a leader.
Bush- Dude's got some talent, but we just don't utilize him to his strengths, and he's caught out of position. Not a leader.
Dansby- He gets his tackles, he just isn't a leader.
Burnett- This stiff couldn't tackle my dead grandfather
We go through OL like a cokehead does cash
The other problem is that we just lack a leader on either side of the ball, and lack an identity throughout the entire team. We're structurally unsound. We've built a team of "yes men" on a culture of mediocrity, rather than field a team of players that are leaders and playmakers. Every vocal player gets cut because they're seen as a "threat", Crowder being the latest casualty.
If we land anywhere other than the first pick, we should go with Vontaze Burfict from ASU with our first round pick. Every team needs a leader, and he could be ours (ala Ray Lewis) for years to come.
First pick, gotta go with Andrew Luck though.
