If you have Culpepper as top5 than Spikes should be in there too.

Crisis, this ain't smack.

But an outside linebacker who needs to move laterally is at greater risk recovering from a torn achilles than a QB recovering from a knee, no matter how bad it was.

Besides, Daunte has done absolutely everything in OTAs with no setbacks whatsoever.
I watched on NFL Network this week that TKO wasn't even participating in OTAs. He was wearing a T-shirt and watching.

I'm not saying TKO won't be back, I'm just saying the two situations aren't the same.

But there is no way Shawne Merriman deserves to be #3

Did you see what he did last year?

If he was a Dolphin you'd have people on this board already claiming he's the best linebacker in the NFL.

Dwight Freeney as the best DE in football?

He's the most overrated player in the NFL, and he's not even a top 5 DE. Also, you gotta bump Seymour up from 5 at DT. In my opinion, he's the best interior defensive lineman in the NFL.

Overall though, pretty good list. Nice post.

What do you think??
These are just my opinions but, this is a message board so I'll discuss what I don't like about this list.

Q.B.'s: I know I'm alone for the most part but, Tom Brady is the best player in football. He has comparable numbers to every passer in football without nearly the surrounding cast on offense. He also has rings and is a big game player. Peyton never has and never will be clutch in the big game.

If Palmer has another year like last year I put him at #2. I do like your top 5. I'd just flip flop the first two.

R.B.'s: How can a list of the top five runners in football leave off the best all around back in football? Edge James is better then all five of those guys. He's the best back in football in my opinion.

I'd put Portis at #4 (behind Edge, L.T., and Tiki). Larry Johnson has to show me more then one half of a season running behind the best line in football for me to put him in the top 5.

F.B.'s: I think you have Beasley ranked a little high. I have not seen a lot of him the last few years but everything I read says he been on the downside the last few years. I hope those reports are wrong.

T.E.'s: I think you hit it out of the park on this one. The only thing I'd flip would be Alge Crumpler out of the top five. I'd put Shockey or Heap in that spot.

W.R.'s: No Torry Holt? I put Holt behind only Smith and T.O. at reciever.

Chambers is too high in my opinion. He is like Larry Johnson. Chambers has to do it for a whole year before he is elite. Gimme Fitz or Boldin over him on the bottom end of the top 5.

T: I like the order you put them in, well accept the fact that the 2nd best tackle in football (William Roaf) is'nt in your top 5.

G: Larry Allen has been a shell of himself for 3 years. He's not aq top 5 player anymore, hell he's lucky he is still starting. Take him off your list and bump everyone up a spot and you're dead on (in my opinion.)

C: I like Bentley as the best in the game.

DT: Kris Jenkins has barely played in two years, no way is he #2. I like Jamal Williams, John Henderson and especially Pat Williams more then Jenkins or Glover.

DE: Dwight Freeney is, after Ray Lewis and Ron Mexico, the most overrated player in football. He is a stat obsessed, ESPN created, one dimensional player. He's never played the run...ever. Burgess is like Freeney junior.

Give me an all around end (Taylor, Peppers, Strahan, Ogunleye, Seymour) over a pure pass rusher everyday of the week.

OLB: I like it.

MLB: I like it. It shows the weakness of middle linebacker in the league though because Ray Lewis is an unproductive slug. The guy is the best in the game at falling on the pile. If not for the bluster, pre game antcis and "thug" image he'd be looked upon as what he is...OVERRATED.

CB: Good list, accept Deltha O'Neal. Yes, he gets his interceptions and Pro Bowls but he also gets picked on a lot for a guy that is supposed to be "elite". I'll take either Philly corner over him everyday of the week.

S: John Lynch is not the best safety in football. The best safety in football is Ed Reed.

K: I like it, although Adam V. is the best in the game. One kick to live or die from 49 yards....who do YOU want taking it? Adam V....everyday of the week.

P: You hit the nail on the head in my opinion.

KR: Close, although I think Daunte Hall is living off his reputation more then production lately.

It's hard to classify Seymour. He moves around so much. I think he belongs in the defensive end category, where I would rank him only behind Taylor and Peppers.

Richard Seymour is the perfect DE in the 3-4.

But if New England played a standard 4-3, Seymour would be a stud DT. I think he's a definite interior D-lineman, not a true 4-3 DE.

Where's McMike? I think he should've edged out Watson.

Alot of people sleeping on Watson, but watch out, I wouldn't be a bit suprised if he puts up better numbers than McMike this year, especially now the Pats lost Givens, thats more oppurtunity for Watson to make his impact. I would put McMike ahead of Watson IMO, but I can understand why he ranked Watson ahead of Randy.

QB

4.Trent Green WTF!

TE

No Shockey?

WR

5.Chris Chambers Homer pick, not even close to top 5

G

1.Larry Allen Well past his best

DT

2.Kris jenkins 2 straight years on IR, shouldn't be here
3.La'Roi Glover Hasn't been good since Dallas installed the 3-4

DE

1.Dwight Freeney One dimensional, not a great end
5.Derrick Burgess Even more one dimensional

OLB

3.Shawne Merriman 1 season of big plays but frequently blew coverage and looked lost when his responsibility wasn't the qb

ILB

Don't really disagree with your list but dear god does the nfl need some playmakers here

CB

2.Deltha O'Neal Absolute garbage, repeat after me Int's do not make a corner good

3.DeAngelo Hall Overated, frequently blows assignments gambling for the big play

5.Ty Law Lost a step, only got so many picks because he was being thrown on non stop

S

1.John Lynch No way, he's practically a 4th linebacker these days

4.Darren Sharper Has been awful the last 3 seasons

Ed Reed and S Taylor should be here

K

No Vinatieri?

On the whole not a bad list though

Not to mention Mcnabb got snubbed on that list :shakeno:

well it wasn't exactly a career year for McNabb last year. He should definitely rebound, but how could you put him in front of players who actually did well last season?

Manning, Brady, Palmer, Big Ben, and a toss between Brees and Hasselback are the top five QBs IMO.
