Shamboubou
THE REAL SOUL SHAKER!
First it is awesome to see the fins playing finally after a really long off season.
I'll start with the D.
I think the secondary did a pretty good job of covering their man. Much better than last monday night. T. Daniels had a really nice breakup. I'm not sure though if they looked that much better because we were getting to the QB almost every time or if it was because the recievers were covered so well they got to the QB. The announcers did give at least one sack as a coverage sack, so they must have been doing pretty well.
The D line, wow did they work their butts off to get to the QB. I was very impressed with them. They also for the most part did a good job at slowing down the running game.
The D scheme, man I love finally seeing the blitz coming from the fins. With JT on the outside usually being doubled the blitzer coming in should free him up to 1 on 1 coverage and help him get some more sacks. I loved the overall scheme and when ran right man it was beautiful to watch.
The O scheme, I have to say it was good not to just see all running plays with the QB handing the ball off and the RB going strait up the middle. I loved the toss and letting our RB get the ball to the outside is going to take a lot of pressure off the O-Line. As long as the outside guy can pinch off we have RB's that are going to make you miss. I also liked the bootlegs that we were doing with Gus. He needs to work on the fake a little more.
Ricky Williams, good god. It was almost like watching Ricky of 02. He had the speed he had the moves. He still has a little ways to go to get all the way back, but he is getting there. As much as everybody was ticked with what he did. If you arn't excited to see him out on the field running like that then you have something wrong with you.
Chris Chambers, this guy shows again and again why he is an awesome reciever. He makes some of the best catch's that I have ever seen. Man has sticky palms.
The QB's. I try to go into the game with a unbias openion on the QB position. But I just do not like the way Feeley looks in the pocket. I like the way Gus moves around the pocket to avoid defenders. Also not only does doing that avoid defenders but it gives your recievers time to get behind the D or infront of them. Gus didn't look great with some of his passes, but to me he looked much better than A.J. Was it just me or does A.J. know that there are recievers on the field?? I know that he locks onto his target but its pretty bad when the target you lock onto is the RB all the time.
O-Line, I would say that was a 100% improvement over the O-Line of Monday night. They also did this against a much better D-Line. The QB's had plenty of time to find their target and get rid of the ball most of the time. We all know they are not going to be the best Line in the NFL but they are not going to be the worst if they play that well or better.
Overall, yeah we lost and we were getting beat pretty bad, but they had some crazy plays that they scored on as well. They had the kick return, the tip that was caught in the endzone, the should have been INT that was caught. So a lot of their points could have not existed had the ball fallen differently.
