My wet dream draft scenario....

I think its kind of stupid that you can't trade the player with his entire cap hit, why does the league care who pays him the $10 million? Anyway, a possible work around would be to get the Eagles to draft the player we want, they sign that player with the same amount of signing bonus we would owe Jordan then do a player for player swap.

He hardly touched the field and he definitely flashed ability when he played. Trading him now would be foolish. We traded up to get him and then trade down to release him while eating 10M in cap space?
Nuts.

What if he hardly sees the field again? Or do you throw him out there in place of Vernon just because you traded up for him and paid him a huge signing bonus? I'm pretty sure our coaches believe in competition and if Jordan ain't winning any competitions in practice he ain't seeing the field.

Please stop talking about trading Dion Jordan. Just get somebody to teach him how to play outside linebacker, and let him do his thing.

Trading for him was a mistake. We should have taken another player. Ireland projected him to be the next Jason Taylor. There is only one and he broke the mold.
He can be effective at OLB right now and in a few years take over for Wake at DE. He needs to beef up to play DE. Giving up on him this early is foolish IMHO.

I disagree, Dion Jordan is the type of talent you hope for each year in the draft, and continually kick yourself hard for allowing to leave your organization, if you let him go....Philly knows this, unfortunately for the Eagles, so does Miami.

Philly likes him but they could have traded up one spot to secure him last year so Im not so sure philly thinks he is this one in a draft type player that some people for some reason believe. Now if Philly starts talkig two number one picks then maybe they do think he is the best thing since sliced bread.

Unless we got substantially more compensation than their 22nd pick or an accompanying player who can fill a starting hole, I'd consider that dream a moist nightmare (you know, like pulling down the cover and seeing a naked Betty White). Otherwise looks reasonable. Hope you remembered to throw the sock in the hamper

The more I think about it the more I wish Ireland had gotten fired 2 years before he did. It was a mistake to trade up for him knowing his best position is as an OLB on a 3-4defense which we don't use. I'm rooting for Jordan but he was the wrong pick for the wrong team imo. Now we can't trade him either cause of the cap hit and if we were to trade him it'd be for less than what we paid to get him, So yet another player Ireland paid for more than we got back. And to think some people on this board wanted Ireland back. ....what a joke

The first three picks would solidify the Oline and give us another offensive threat for years, which is only gonna make Ryan better, then next year we would have the luxury of picking whoever we want instead of need. That might just put us in the position to move up for that one dynamic player to put us over the top and finally contend for the Super Bowl
