Kendricks did have an ankle cleanup procedure but that's not why he was released. Outside of that cleanup, he's healthy. He has had a lot of nagging soft-tissue injuries in years past but I don't think he missed any games last year. He was cut for cap reasons. His salary was $5.9M which was simply too much for his role. With Hicks back, he'd revert to his previous 3rd LB role and the Eagles only played 3 LBs 25-30% of snaps. Kendricks is a 2 down player at most. He is best attacking either against the run or blitzing. He has the on paper speed to cover but just isn't good at it. Doesn't seem to recognize routes and doesn't have great COD. Still, he'd be a good pickup for a team for a salary more in line with the role he's expected to play.
