So much for the argument from Patsyland that the 72 fins had a schedule of opponents with a combined .485.

.465 is their combined opponents average. Ok, you chowder-eatin Brady-lovin cheaters - I know that playing the 1-15 fins helped in this .465 average but in 72 they didn't have high priced free agents and steroids or cameras that could be hidden on the sidelines.

The 1972 Dolphins played the schedule that the NFL gave them....and the Phins beat every one of their opponents, including the Pats 52-0. What people seem to forget is how the Dolphins did not have home field advantage in the playoffs back then, and we had to play the AFC Championship Game in Pittsburgh (on 12-31-1972), despite being undefeated. I would love to hear from the Patriots and their whiney fans if they had to play the AFC Championship in San Diego this year, despite being undefeated.

I hate the Patriots just as much as the next guy...But to be fair to them...I dont think you can focus on the Patriots opponent winning percentage due to the easy conference scheduel...Jets, Dolphins, Bills twice each...But think about this...If they do win the superbowl they will have earned it when you look at the teams they beat...Beating the Colts, Cowboys, Chargers twice, Steelers, Redskins, Jaguars, Giants twice (if they win tommorw or the Packer). That would mean of the playoff teams the only ones they wouldnt have beaten would be the Titans, Seahawks, and Buccaneers...Yes they cheated, Yes the refs bailed them out numerous times (especially/most blatanly in the Ravens game) and personally it makes me sick...But if they do win the Superbowl and go undefeated we have to give them credit for what they are...Not the best team in NFL history...They dont have the best quarterback in NFL history (Brady isnt even having the best year of any quarterback this season, the should go to Brett Favre)...There defense is average...But we have to admit it is the best/most efficient offense the NFL has ever seen.

Update!!! just found an article on espn.com that the 1972 Dolphins had one of the easiest scheduels dating back to the 1950s...Oppenents winning percentage .396!!!! Article states that 99% of teams since 1950 had an easier schedule than our '72 Dolphins. They played only two teams with winning records during the regular season and obviously beat them both.So if your looking to discredit this years Patriots we probably should look for something other than oppenent winning percentage...

The biggest difference is the '72 dolphins didn't play a single playoff bound team during the regular season and only played 2 teams at .500 all year. NE has splayed SD, Indy, NYG, Dallas, Washington and Pitt. That's 5 playoff bound teams compared to zero, I'd love to chop down NE's opponent strength but they played a tough sched, the #s were dragged down by the Jets and Miami but this was nothing like the '72 Dolphins sched.

BOO HOO....The Phins did not make the 1972 schedule the last time I checked.

They also didn't play against Norv Turner's awful redzone playcalling in the AFC 'chip either.

Neither did the 07 patriots last time I checked but it is what it is. Cry all you want to but the 07 patriots will erase the 72 dolphins from the history books.

Congrats on maybe becoming the SECOND team to have a perfect season....I still think the Packers or Giants are gonna make you cry. :boohoo:

Put on your tux Mecury were ringing your front door bell. Not only are we moving in we're here to evict you.

Neither the Giants or the Packers or any other NFL team for that matter can stand in the way of history.

By the way its going to be the giants who will go down as the loser along the Patriots "path to perfection"

:hi5:

a notice to pats fans you dont erase the phins they also won the superbowl and as usual being a low intellect pats fan you should know they only played 14 games then not 16

dynasty..... to history makers.. Sounds nice.

Yeah, congrats for every win except the cheating BS and that BS Baltimore game.

You have 1 loss and 1 disqualification in my book.

The '72 Dolphins are in the history books officially.

The '07 Patriots (if they win) are in the history books with an ASTERISK.

the only history the pats have made is getting caught cheating, lets all teach our kids that it is ok to cheat
