Name for DC to Watch out

I like the suggestion of Trgovac. Bowles is fine. There IMO could be worse than Mangini.

I'm mixed on Greene.

The thought of Del Rio makes me ill.
 
I'd love to have Spags here as DC, any guy who was the main reason the pats lost the SB and let his players destroy Brady and stop the Pats from becoming undefeated is high up in my kick azz book.

That would be a very good pickup. A VERY good pickup. Del Rio was not a good head coach on the whole, but that his defense was always very, very mean.

Spags would be an awesome hire, too.
 
It has been stated that Spags wants to go to a team with an explosive offense...next.
 
I would like to see a coordinator with former HC experience on staff.
 
The team is going to stay 3-4...I think it is obvious based on the finalists.
 
since we want a "young Shula" as HC why not a young Arnsparger for DC? wow, a young Shula and a young Arnsparger would be like a young Ozzy with Randy Rhoads.

Ozzy rules!!
 
Jim Leavitt is in SF as a LB's coach...another idea.

Now again, SOME PEOPLE PREFER to work just as position coaches rather than be coordinators. See Winston Moss, or also 2 of the best OL coaches in recent memory, Hudson Houck and Alex Gibbs. So Bowles not being a DC may not be a big issue.

Anyways, Omar brought up the name of Green Bay DL coach Mike Trgovac as a potential DC as BOTH Philbin and McCoy have worked with him. Trgovac was the Carolina DC from 2003-08 (was the DL coach in 02, so he and McCoy spent 7 seasons on the same staff) and he actually TURNED DOWN an extension with Carolina after the 08 season as he wanted to learn the 3-4 defense so he went to Green Bay to learn under Dom Capers.

Trgovac would be a great choice. He has always had a top performing DL and/or defense wherever he has been.

Funny how some react to the name Omar only because they probably have no idea who Mike is. Omar is right on this one.

never went to a superbowl without Arnsparger. Every time he came back we competed for one pretty much.
 
What scares me about Bowles is playing with a decent lead in the 4th quarter. Other than that I think he could put a very good defense together.

I love that he elected to go to Green Bay to learn the 3-4 as it was evolving more and more with different looks.

He's been a defensive line coach or defensive coordinator at every point and destination of his career dating back to 1986 with Ball State. Going through multiple college and pro teams till becoming defensive coordinator with the Panthers in 2003. He then TURNED DOWN a contract offer with the Panthers to go learn from Dom Capers. Smart man.
