So many people on this board are putting too much into this game IMO. Look at it this way, name the teams in the league who you feel would be a favorite to go on the road and beat the pats and then come home and beat the chargers. Dallas maybe, maybe pitt or the colts but even their fans would probably except a split with those two games, and we are certainly not on that level yet. This game is a can't lose game to me, we are supposed to lose and if we do it is not that bad and if we win we turn the NFL on it's ear.
I read things on here like "well I won't believe until we do it back to back", and I get that, but not winning this game is not like we are the same team as last year. What I am trying to say is lets not put our eggs into this weeks basket. All we should be looking for is how they play. If we compete and keep it close then I feel we will win 6-9 games this year with our schedule. Just don't start throwing things at the TV if we can't run and Chad throws a pick. SD is a great FB team and we are just starting out. Lets enjoy the process and cut down on the "this team sucks"mentality that seems to be on this board after every loss. Now dont get me wrong, if we get blown out and look horrible doing it then that is a different thing. They deserve to get ragged on by the fans. Lets just keep in mind the big picture.:woot:

This is a big game dude....i can accept a loss as long as they come out like a bunch of maddogs, if we win its HUGE on so many levels, if we lose by coming out overconfident or flat then i will be pissed, if we come out 100 % i can live with the result.

If we get embarrassed like the Zona game...it's bad. As long as we are competitive for 4 quarters, it's good.

Exactly, that is what I am saying. We are in a great position. It is a huge game but if we lose it is not the end of the world....unless we throw 5 picks and give up 4 or 5 long completions of 40 yds or more. Then I would be pissed also. Lets just not say this is a make or break kinda game and then get so down on the team if they play well and lose a close one.

What your saying is not exactly right. They are not playing games back to back. Put it in more accurate terms, they are coming off a bye week and have homefield advantage. How many teams would win under those circumstances? I think that question adds a few more teams to your list of possibilities. NE win felt great and brought some relief to us all but now its time to see if we can do it with some consistency. I am looking for them to show us that they are building and improving on what they accomplished two weeks ago. A well fought out competive loss will bring me more comfort then a sloppy win. I think alot of us feel that way.

I felt we'd win 6 games and lose 10 before the season ever started.....

1 down....

5 to go....

Im with most here, if we can be aggressive and not lay down for the bolts win or lose I would be satisfied definately pissed if we lose but satisfied

According to CBS Sportsline, San Diego has a terrible pass Defense so if we can manage to force them to load the line to stop Ronnie and Ricky, that increases our chances to get it Fasano or Ginn. We can win this game fellas. It's winnable. If we don't let them put up big points on us, their D will fall. They are like the Broncos in that they rely on their offense to carry the team. They are in a constant battle to outscore what the defense allows. What happened in the KC game in Denver? The first game Denver doesn't put up big points, thier D still allows 30+ points and they lose. That can be us. If we win this game we will have doubled our win record from last season which is to say, we NEED this.

I understand what you are saying, but that is a defeatist atitude, this is not a great team yet, but nobody on Miami (OR THIER FANS) should expect anything other then a Victory ever single week.....No Matter WHO The Other Team Is

This is what the thread is about. It is ok to plan and feel that we have a chance to win, but lets not over react if we hang close and can't win back to back. Very few teams could win both of these games. Now I agree if TS came out and said we can't win both of these games then that would be a problem, I am just trying to keep people at an even keel.
Let's don't throw the team under the bus if we don't blow out the chargers. They are where we are wanting to be in a couple of years. We are not there yet and if we can't beat them at home after a extra week of practice does not mean this is last years team. It just mean we have a little more work and draft picks to get to where we all want to be....a contender.
