I know that the top 10 racres at the end get to race for the cup or w/e, my questions are do the ohter 32 racers race too? and if so for what purpose? Also when teh 10 races to the cup start does eveyrone start on a clean slate point wise or does their points from teh regular season carry over??

I have another Nascar question...how come everytime there is a race there is one driver *****ing about someone else? It happens every time.

There's a prize at the end of the year for 11th place, so the rest of the guys are racing for that. When the Chase for the Nextel Cup starts, all points are reset at 0 for the top 10 cars.

Ever have road rage driving home from work? Multiply that by 4 hours of the most grueling driving conditions imaginable (the heat inside the car is such that drivers can lose more than 10 pounds during a race). Then add in extremely high levels of testosterone and competitiveness, and of course the fact that your job rests on this sort of thing, and I think you'll have your answer.

That isn't right. Here is the info for the chase taken from nascar.com

"NASCAR unwrapped the final details of the new system to crown its Nextel Cup champion this year, and it is different. After 26 races, the top 10 and whoever else is within 400 points of the leader will advance to the "Chase for the Championship," as NASCAR calls it.
The leader's points total will be reset to 5,050, with the remaining eligible drivers' points decreasing by five. Those drivers then race for the championship over the final 10 races, with the winner earning $5 million from the points fund."

By God, you're right! Terrible oversight on my part; thanks for the correction.

And they wanna race because they still get good money for each win.

I understand that...but this is a sport, and everyone is trying to win. I just don't see the point in saying "oh that guy's an idiot, he has no business on a track" why? All he was trying to do was win the race.

Because guys like Tony Stewart get pissed off and take guys off the track on because they are mad.

Some guys like Tony Stewart have real bad tempers.

It's no different than in other sports; guys complain all the time about other players, except that in auto racing, the risk of a fatality is a lot higher. Aggressive play in other sports may lead to an injury, but aggressive driving could lead to (in a worst case example) very serious injury or death. So things are ratcheted up a little more.
