Nasty's Notes:
Sorry it took so long for me to get this up to get this up... had to give the woman some attention. OK... I got there a little late (damn traffic! :yell: ) But I still saw most the practice. Today I tried to watch the people you guys asked me to, and some that I wanted. They were...
Ricky
Boston
Feeley
Gus
Travis Daniels
Vernon Carey
Alex Holmes (miabrown23)
Abram Elam (nick1)
Yeremiah Bell (FinaticalOne)
OK...
Ricky - Ricky looks like Ricky. End of story. His quickness, cuts, and vision are all there. Some of his runs didnt go anywhere... but there was no where to go. Othertimes... he made barley nothin into a 5-15 yard gain. Also He had one screen pass to the right. He ran to the right for about 10 yards then cut hard left and then cut up the field for about a 35-40 yard gain. Sick play. Great vision. The crowd was loving it. Caught well out of the backfield as well...
Boston - Looking good boys... He is running well and fast and catching pretty good. He isnt the Boston of old... yet ... but is playing well. He smoked a cornerback (dont remember who he beat) on a fly route down the left sideline. A beautiful throw over the corner and away from the saftey (who was Elam). Boston turned and took it in his chest. Would have liked to have seen him catch it with his hands, but that is just me being picky because it was still a beautiful play. He is gunna be a great threat this year if he is coming out of the slot.
Feeley - Not exactly impressive but not discusting either. A typical practice that I have seen from Feeley... Some great throws... Some bad throws. He had one really nice long TD pass to I think Kendall Newson. He also had the prettiest throw of the QBs tonight with a 40 yard pass to Darius Tompson who was on a fly. Put it over the corner and over DTs outside shoulder... it was perfect... but DT couldnt hold onto it. DT had his leg streched by a trainer after the play... but I think it was to try and save face since he dropped the best pass of the night. But he also had trouble finding a receiver a couple times. HOWEVER he didnt seem like he was tryin to force the ball which I was atleast encouraged about. He tucked it a couple of times and threw it out of bounds 1-2 other times.
Gus - Again... Not exactly impressive but not discusting either. He looked better in the short passing game than deep. But he definatly seems to just know where receivers are gunna be. I really saw that in one play where he checked down all his targets on the right, and then just turned and fired almost in the same motion to a guy runnin an out on the left... knowing that the guy (Alex Holmes) was there. That is the difference between Feeley and Gus right now IMO. Hopefully Feeley will pick it up a lil more because judging on the throws alone... i would give a slight edge to Feeley...
Travis Daniels - I was worried because of the injury... but people... he is fine. He looked good. I love how relaxed he looks since he knows what he is doing. Just has a different swagger on the field than a normal rookie.
Vernon Carey - I havent seen him in pads (DAMN WORK!! :fire: ) but he has been lookin good! Really was holding his own. I am starting to believe what I saw with my own 2 eyes on Monday wasnt a fluke. He wasnt perfect... Jason beat him good one time, but that was the only time I saw that. Also, let JT get by on a reverse play with Chambers to JTs side. But holding JT for that long is freakin hard! Looks good though. If he looks like this in pads... I will be a very happy man. Think about it... a LT for the future... It would be amazing! Now I aint putting him in the probowl yet... but he is looking good and very encouraging.
Alex Holmes - Played alright... caught well. He made catches he was supposed to make. Gus found him a few times. Needs to get a lil more physical when blocking... but looked alright.
Bell - Didnt see him much... but looked decent when I saw him. What I saw wasnt starter quality though... I saw Saban pull him aside and talk to him about some things...
Abram Elam - Looked alright. A little slow reacting but played the run better than the pass. When he reads run he attacks quick. Was late getting to a fly route down the sideline by Boston (as said earlier) but it looked more like a gorgeous pass than him being out of position...
Other Notes:
Vickerson made a few impressive plays. I wasnt watchin him much but did see him in the backfield a couple of times... but remember... he wasnt playin first string.
Wright didnt practice
Tebucky Jones had a int of Gus (I think it was Gus...) but it was because Donald "Ret@rd" Lee wasnt even lookin back for the ball
Roth is getting off the ball quick... but needs to get off the lineman quicker...
Kevin Carter got an int off a Feeley ball that was tipped at the line. The fat boy actually ran it back for some good distance. He is big but he can move!
Thats all I got boys... Hope you enjoyed and can sleep better now... :goof:
