Nasty's Notes:
Sorry it took so long for me to post this... had to take the woman to a movie. Alright... Before I start, most of the practice was on the far field... WHICH SUCKS... because you can barely see anything. Especially because there is a big tent on the sidellines between you and the field that blocks half of it. So it is really hard to see much at all so I wasnt able to gather as much information as normal. Also wasnt able to watch all the people you guys wanted to hear about. sorry... I will get em next time. Now...
Before I start I wanna fill you in on some breaking news.... Matt Turk will be cut. You heard it here first. Not because Turk sucks or anything, because he doesnt. He did fine in practice today and has been very productive durin his carreer. However... This new punter kid (cant remember his name) we got that used to play wit Saban at LSU is a stud. Anything Turk did... this kid did better. Turk would be punting about 50-55 yards... this kid was punting 55-65 yards... just straight up bombing them. He had atleast 7-8 punts of 60 yards or more. Then... they started to punt em up high for hang time... and this kid can punt them higher than Ricky. I was using the second hand on my watch (not too accurate) but I had the hang time at 6 seconds on a few of em... Turk looked great... this kid looked better... and his contract is a hell of alot cheaper I can gaurentee that. Who knows... maybe Saban can get a draft pick for Turk...
OK...Today was in full pads. I am pretty sure Wright is now #95. I could be wrong. Either way I am pretty sure he was playing today. D-Mac was too and wasnt in red which is a good thing since I thought he got hurt yesturday... he must be fine. Tillman, Brandon Haw and Josh Shaw were in red... Holliday and Chester did not practice.
We seem to be blitzing a hell of alot. I like it alot! Crowder and Moore started with the first team in the 4-3. Pretty sure Moore was SLB and Crowder was WLB.
Gordon - Look quick today. Ran very fluid and had some nice cuts...
Couldnt see much of the QBs or receivers... But Feeley threw a bomb (45 yards in the air) that was awsome over the CB to Chambers who had toasted the CB (didnt see who it was). The throw was sweet but the catch was amazing... you know... typical Chambers one-handed grab... who was able to catch it still in stride because the throw was pretty much where it had to be... Chambers didnt have to dive... just reach out... the pass went for a TD.
Gus actually had a scramble for about 20 yards... kinda funny
Vickerson, Wright, and Flemons all had a sack...
Donald Lee caught 1 out of 2 balls thrown to him that I saw... the one he dropped was pathetic...
Lance Shulters - Looked great out there for only being here 2 days. Looks very comfortable and doesnt seem to be haveing any trouble adjusting to the system.
Brandon Ayanbadejo actually looked really good today from what I saw. Looked quick and had a nice pass deflection and also had a nice tackle for loss behind the line of scrimmage on Minor.
The defense got the better of the offense today (when dont they?)
Alright... sorry I wasnt able to see much, but I tried to tell you all I was able to see... Hope it gave you your fix...
