CLEMENTS BLOWS OUT THE CURVE
Adam Schefter of NFL Network reports that the San Francisco 49ers have signed cornerback Nate Clements.
It's a mind-boggling eight-year, $80 million deal, with $22 million in guaranteed money, and it makes Clements the highest-paid defensive player in NFL history.
Clements was expected to be pursued by several teams. But he never got out of San Fran.

he be like lavar arrington sign a big deal, then get cut in the 2nd year of the deal.

i dont even care if he got that much money

That contract is unreal...80 mil. He will never see all of it. Although 22 mil is guaranteed. Most likely it will get restructured in two to three years. Definitely priced the phins out of the running.

Least we won't see him very often, now that he is not with the Bills. I think he was a little overrated, but with the weak free agent class this year he is getting his $$$$.

Highest defensive player in NFL history?

Wow, that brings the league down to ****s.....he's not even a top 3 CB anymore.

yeah man that is insane.. the 49ers may end up being good but down the line they are going to be in so much cap trouble like before

Also imagine what that does to the market with the rest of the Corners still out there.

Or even Better is Samuals did not get Franchised there would be 2 contracts of that nature.

Bad thing is any team looking for one of the other CBs are now going to have to shell some money. Nate set the market this year
