I know it's only 2 days of training camp, but I'm not too comfortable with these 3 CB's. Thomas got beat pretty bad several times last year and Jason Allen well is Jason Allen.
Nate Jones is good when blitzing, but he is below average in coverage.

We only have Will Allen, Smith, Green and Davis..If one of them is injured we are in big trouble..

The most important signing right now in my opinion is CB Mike McKenzie who is an upgrade over them.

i dont even fell comfortable with Eric Green he is more of one of the corners that is going to hhelp with the run more then the passing game

Look down other teams depth charts and see how good their 4th and 5th corners are...injuries can kill a team in a heartbeat....the Panthers just took a huge loss with their DT blowing an ACL....they dont even have room under the cap to get a guy off the street thanks to peppers....

Honestly I think Nate Jones could beat out Eric Green for playing time by the time this whole thing is done. I think Jones is solid. He's a smart guy and he plays physical.

I'd be getting worried about the Eric Green/Jason Allen/Joey Thomas situation. To me, we're 4 deep at CB and we need to make sure we head into cuts about 6 deep, in order to be sure that the top 5 they keep (or if they keep 6) are competent.

Time to start giving Mike McKenzie a call IMO.

i have jones making the team,he is a good special teams player as well,
mcKenzie would be a nice assurance pick up
allen, billingsley, and thomas are goners for me

like you said eric green has to improve to make the team

I still say JA makes the team over Joey Thomas. That dude is terrible.

What about having one of our backup safety's playing some in dime or nickel packages. ie. having 3 or 4 safety's on the field instead of extra corners coming in. I know Culver is really good in coverage.

Joey Thomas gave up some long passes in the afternoon practice and right after the last one Parcells quickly pulled him over for a lecture.

Uh oh.

The kiss of death.

5 CB's seems reasonable. Allen, Smith, Davis, Green, and Jones with the possibility of one of them being swapped out with McKenzie. I personally would like to see McKenzie replace Green on the roster.

How many DB's did we keep last year ? I think 5 CB's and 4 safeties should be fine.

For safety, obviously we'll start Wilson and Bell. I think Culver and Clemons will be locks as backups to make the team. There's your 4 safeties.

But I read an article about 2 weeks ago that said we may keep 10 d-backs. So not sure what will happen with that. I guess special teams play will play a part of it.

We play a lot of good passing games this year. We weren't good against the spread last year and I'm sure teams will attack us that way with the new secondary on top of that.

The depth or lack there of is scary. Jason Allen will have to do A LOT to turn me around. I have given up on him. McKenzie had all the skills and produced in his prime in GB/NO. But he had a severe knee injury in '07 if I recall correctly. He is not quit ancient but no spring chicken either. Worth a shot considering the situation.

What kind of contract and bonus did Eric Green get? I seem to remember 2 year 5-6 million. How much of a hit to cut him? We may be cutting Wilford too.

McKenzie played in the NFC South. that's another reason to give him a look IMO. he has played every team in the NFC South a few times.

And I wonder over and over again with the Dolphins picking 2 corners in the draft doesn't Jason Allen have the "this is my house" personality that hunger to be a starter? He is the Veteran My god he is in the NFL where is the competition, the hunger? This guy is the biggest piece of waste of a pick ever, I dont know how guys like this even make it to the NFL. they just make it for the money but once they are here they have no desire to be the best anymore not even to try hard, so sad.
