Orchard was always a bubble player. If nobody bothered to claim him on waivers (?) my guess is that other teams didn't see the raw talent either. Every year there are some players who the fans think have great potential but the GM's of the league don't … usually, the GM's are right. The problem is that we see these guys producing against the competition they face. We have veterans who are going through the motions in vanilla plays and schemes, so we don't really see NFL caliber competition. It's mostly rookies and people not good enough to make an NFL roster we see as their competition, so it's kinda hard to gauge just how good or how much potential these guys have.
