one thing I just noticed is that the LA Clippers have home court advantage. why is that? they are the lower seeded team, Denver should have the home court advantage in this seris

The Clippers have a better record and they assign home court that way.

Which is ridiculous, seeding is seeding and home court should be given based on that.....

And did it always work like that? Because honestly i cant remember a case where a lower seed with a higher record got home court over a team. Maybe there wasn't any? The NBA is so watered down nowadays who knows.....

They should go back to a Best of Five for the first round.

Pfft. It should NOT be based on seeding, not with the current ridiculous system that has mediocre teams like the Nuggets winning divisions.

The Clippers deserve home court...it's not their fault they didn't play in a creampuff division like Denver.

If the NBA had never gone to three divisions, the Clippers would have had the higher seed.

Agreed.

Clippers >>> Suns (without Amare) & Nuggets

well, better record does not automatically mean better team, especially due to how long the season is, but I don't really agree that the clippers are better than the Suns just because I think the Suns could run up the score on them with their uptempo offense.

Then why did they have a worse record than the Suns?
Since when the hell did a better record result in being a better team?

I question whether or not some of you actually WATCH sports...........

Listen man, dont talk down to me...
The Suns are better than the Clippers period. When a team finishes with a better record than another team in the same division, 9/10 it is because they are a better team. They played the same teams, and got more victories, its that simple. Maybe if they were a game or two apart you could make an arguement, but not when they are 7 games behind...I dont understand how you can make an arguement that a team with a worse record isnt a worse team 90% of the time...

I dont understand why the first round has to take almost 3 weeks in the NBA....in fact last year you had round 1 games on the same day as round 2 games. It takes way to long, the games aren't even all televised. I just think the NBA does a poor job managing the first round of it's playoffs.

It's called the regular season. Many times in the NBA, teams do not give you all they have during the regular season. Like I said, with Amare, the Suns may be better. Without him, I highly doubt that and it's showing right now in the playoffs. Look what the Lakers, the 7th seeded team is doing to Phoenix. LAL is up 2-1 right now, and it should be 3-0. They're embarrassing Phoenix by playing team basketball, something they did not play for 82 games during the season. How much $$$ do you wonna put on the Clippers/Lakers (who would beat the Suns to move on) in round 2 if they both advance?

The playoff intensity shows who is the better team; take a look at Miami's record last year & Detroit's record. They were 5 games apart; yet Detroit took it to 'em in the Eastern Conference Finals...IN Miami (yes, I understand Dwyane Wade was hurt). You cannot judge who is a better team based on a regular season record. You actually have to WATCH both teams play. When both teams are at their best games, minus Amare, the Clippers are better. Personally, I think the Clippers are the 3rd best team in the West; maybe even the 2nd. They're definitely the NBA's most underrated.
