NBA promises zero tolerance for drama queens

They better call this evenly across the board!!!!

I want to see the superstars get called for this and not the 3rd guy off the bench!!! Even if that means the superstars rack up the fouls quick and may not be playing late in games.

duncan cry...sorry you lost me there

Duncan whines all the time. He isn't as demonstrative as 'Sheed but he is still complaining.

One of the Miami beat writers wrote a rather amusing comment stating that this should be an immense help for the Heat. If Wade actually runs down the court and plays defense instead of whining to the refs after every missed layup....think how many easy layups would be avoided on the other end.

this will be another way for the refs to control the outcome of the game. Basketball is starting to look like heavyweight fighting. FIX

It's just another 'Sheed Wallace rule," Wallace, shaking his head, told the newspaper. "It just means I must be doing something right. Any time they change the rules of the game for one specific player, you must be doing something right."

Wait, isn't he not supposed to complain?

David Stern is really climbing up the ranks as one of the best commissioners of all time.

He has really earned my respect over the years with some of the things he's implimented in the NBA.

They aren't growing back yet, because the PETA move with the new synthetic ball is total crap.. Back to the cow-skin ball please..

Every player in the league complains about calls. I expect alot of fines this year for players commenting on officials. The NBA is a game that is for the most part dominated by young black men and Stern has to cater to old white men because they're the ones going to the game.

This has nothing to do with the young black man against the rich white guy or the "thug culture." Players complaining about calls is annoying and effects the game. Coaches hate it, every other player on the team that has to play 4 on 5 when the prima-dona is bitching to the officials hates it, and it annoys the fans. Talking to an official seeking an explaination during a timeout or when a guy is shooting FTs is one thing......letting your emotions get out of control and having it change the way the game is played is unacceptable.

Fines isn't how this will be inforced. Players don't care about having to pay a few grand. Technical fouls will be called in abundance early in the season. That will put a stop to it immediately.

I predict 50+ technicals on Sheed. He cries all the time. Must be a leftover from the Bill Laimbeer days. :boohoo:

It doesn't change the way the game is played. If an official makes a call that could decide the outcome of a game guys are going to complain. Coaches may not want their players to do it but then again they do the same thing. I think it has everything to do with the culture and the fans. Guys complain in every sport so I don't see why it's a big deal.
