Vince would address Miami's biggest needs: athleticism, a player who can get his own shot and (assuming Jason Kapono leaves) outside shooting. In another thread, I suggested a Haslem, Williams, Wright and future #1 pick for Kidd deal. I don't know if that would be enough for the Nets to part with Carter, though. I tend to think Carter will have more bidders out there.
Carter won't have to be traded for. He has an opt out clause that takes effect after the season. He can simply sign with whoever he wants to if he chooses that right.
what about the vet rule? I mean if he really wants a ring....and he's willing 5 mil for one yr isnt bad....Yes, but if Miami wants him, they'll have to do a sign-and-trade, since they don't have anywhere near enough cap room to sign him outright. FWIW, I think it's highly unlikely that he'll go to Miami, but since the possibility was broached, I thought I'd discuss it.

agreeToo much stars on a Team is not always good. Lakers attempted with Payton, Kobe, Malone, Shaq etc. didn't work out.
