Now would that be more entertaining than the current format with the pathetic Eastern Conference or what? lol, I know it goes against tradition, but still. Just something to look at......

When 11th ranked Sacramento could go 7th in the Eastern Conference, something needs to be shaken up.

Just leave it the way it is the East Conference will be respectable in a few years and there will come a time where the EC is the powerhouse and the WC will suck for the most part thats how its been in sports lately, its like in baseball where the AL is more dominant then NL by a wide margin and the AFC is better then the NFC in the NFL not dominant but still better.

The problem is, most of the new young stars cominginto the league, seem to be going west as well. With the exception of Wade and LeBron, the league's best young players are out here, meaning the balance of power isn't likely to shift anytime soon.

Players like Oden, Durant, Melo, Bynum, Monta Ellis, Biedrins, Roy, Aldridge. Heck, you can even throw the guy from Minnesota into the mix.

I would be willing to bet that LeBron flees Cleveland as soon as he is able. If he comes west, you can bet that it will be even more lopsided (although I get the feeling he will be in New Jersey).

With so much talent being in the West you'd have to think that the East will have some salary cap flexibility on the horizon, possibly allowing them to pick more big $$ free agents and better even things out. Obviously this thinking isnt flawless, but it could be true for enough teams that'd it move the East a bit closer in terms of talent.

its depressing when your a fan of a team fighting for a playoff spot in the west, and in th e east there are teams who are horrible, making it easy.

100% agree

The Warriors are better than half the teams in the East playoffs at the moment and it sucks because we're bearly hangin on the 8th seed with a fricken 30-20 record.

Ging into next seaosn, there are only three teams or so that have salary cap flexibility. Atlanta Hawks, Memphis Grizzlies and depending on if Marion opts out, the Miami Heat. It is unlikely that Marion does leave 17 million on the table.

Point being, even though the bulk of the talent is in the West, bad contracts and max players are all over the place. For example: Chris Bosh is a good player. He got max money from the Raptors, but he isn't a guy that can carry a franchise far into the playoffs.
