The long-awaited trade of Jamaal Magloire is all but official.
The Bucks have verbally agreed to deal the veteran center to the Portland Trail Blazers for guard Steve Blake, forward Brian Skinner and center Ha Seung-Jin.

this is straight robbery:cooldude:

thoughts?

A few bums traded for a big bum, I dont see how either team gets better.

magloire also has a terrible nyk like contract, has a propensity to terrible from the stripe and isnt a great defender or shot blocker....Not so sure Portland wasnt better of with the scrubs

Before 2005, this would have been robbery, but Magliore was awful last year. That said, he's only signed through 2006-7, so if he stinks, they lose little and can just cut him loose.

How many deals are the Portland Traliblazers going to make????

looks great for portland. fills a need and didn't have to give up much except for blake.

I like it...at worst gives ya depth at the 5, something the blazers definitely didnt have

PG Jarrett Jack
SG Brandon Roy
SF Martell Webster
PF Zach Randolph
C Joel Przybilla
Sergio Rodriguez PG
Darius Miles SF
LaMarcus Aldridge PF/C

Also just thought of this guys what if the knicks suck the next two years and end up grabbing Greg Oden and then OJ Mayo in consecutive drafts...that would almost spell championship right off the bat with the hype those two players are carrying

Man this is all we can get for Magloire.. This is pretty brutal, I was expecting more, but having Blake will be nice to backup Mo Williams.. I can't be too mad, I am still beaming about the Ford for Villaneuva trade..

I think the Ford for Villaneuva was a great trade for both sides! TJ Ford will fit the team very well and hes friends with Bosh so it kept Bosh happy!

Since the Raptors have no PG, Ford is a nice upgrade.. I am pretty sure in a few years they will regret letting Villaneuva go, a 6"11 guy who can rebound and shoot and would have won ROY, except for that stud called Chris Paul.. A frontline of Villaneuva and Bogut should be good for a few years..

Actually villanueva was the 4th best rookie this year imo behind chris paul, raymond felton, and when healthy channing frye

Villenueva and Frye are very comparable but Charlie had a better season because he stayed healthy and had a couple of breakout games.. Felton was pretty good last year, much better than I thought for a rookie, and had a great season ala Charlie.. Chris Paul is in a league of his own..

Why in the world does Portland want Magloire? At best they get a rental who plays his *** off to get a contract with another team. They cant seriously think they will contend next year.

I also dont get why the Bucks were so eager to dump Magloire. How can it hurt to have another 6'11 guy in the frontcourt? Even if you call Villanueva a PF they arent very deep. Then again most everything the Bucks do mystify me, from trading for Welsh to signing a shooter to a max deal to trading Desmond Mason for Steve Blake. I know Mason didnt do all that well in NO....but that trade just looks idiotic now.
