Today was the first time in a long while I didnt watch the game live and didnt even care... I worked all day and didnt even think about it, matter of fact I realized there was a game today on my way back home and asked myself if I was going to watch the game or the walking dead when I got home... Needless to say as Im posting here, I made the wrong decision although I havent watched TWD yet, it might be as bad as last week and in that case its a draw...

It initially looked like it was going to be a long day for the defense, I almost just turned the game off at first but then I realized I wasnt angry at all, quite the opposite as they got some LOLs out of me...They got their **** together and the special teams turned the game around... BUT! The offense... WTF is this offense? Seriously...
WTF is this offense? I feel like Im watching the football version of the Mighty Ducks movie... Screens are made to fool people, you're not fooling anyone if you run them every other play, that shotgun sweep play-IT DOESNT WORK- STOP! let it go... The only time it actually worked is when they faked it and threw a screen off of it and that went for a big gain... BUT it doesnt even come close to make up for the 100 times it failed miserably...

Empty sets... WTF are you thinking??? Seriously can anyone come up with a logical explanation for empty sets, especially when you only run 3 plays out of it and they always fail... At some point, its not variance, you're just not good at it...
All in all, watching tonights game felt like I was playing madden with my nephew on easy mode... In other words... Bad football... But hey we won!

Feel ya bud ! Do like I do, just enjoy the game, especially the offense but with very little expectation. Win or lose, who cares ? There's always next yr. I will rather know my fate now than later deep into the holiday season. Just enjoy your team !

Big issues I've seen are:

- Not enough depth on our pass routes. I've been screaming about this for two years. Rich Gannon pointed it out today, and even though I think Rich Gannon is kind of a lousy analyst, even he couldn't miss it. 3rd and 5 and Jordan Cameron runs a three yard route. What the **** is the point?

- Slow developing plays when we're struggling to maintain or even pick up blocks.

- There are clearly issues with players understanding the offense, as we have a bunch of situations in which the quarterback obviously thinks that someone is going to pick up a blitzer who can be accounted for, but then he's given a free release by the offensive line and the tight end both. You actually see a lot of plays in which a defensive lineman is doubled while a blitzer runs through untouched.

- Too many screens and other gadget plays that wind up being wasted or unproductive downs.

- Not enough movement of the quarterback. The ONE time today that we tried to move the quarterback, it was a reverse naked bootleg on 2nd and 7 during a four minute drill. I don't even understand this stuff.

- Predictable route tree. The Eagles' defensive coordinator actually mentioned this to the CBS crew before the game; it's nothing new.

- Poor spacing of the offense. We continuously run a bunch of guys into the same small area of the field, creating traffic jams (you can frequently see things like our receivers colliding with each other, Chambers pointed out at least one of these in today's game) and adding a higher risk element to a lot of these throws.

The empty sets in G2G drive me insane.
We can beat teams straight up... I have no clue why we are running those gimmick plays... this is insane... We've got guys running 25 yards to gain 4, multiple exchanges for plays designed to gain less than 10 yards, we run deception plays without running the opposite part... Who bites on a play action when you only run 1/4 plays... You're actually wasting a second there... Leave the shot gun alone... Unless you're willing to let Tannehill run off of it a couple of times a game... Tannehill had a bunch of respectable gains on the ground last year out of that formation, it helped to keep the D honest... Now they dont even bother....This is ****ing mickey mouse...

What do you think about our run/pass ratio?

Agree with you guys Lazor gets too cute with his play selection. Too bad he hasn't installed some of Kelly's hurry up. That was ridiculous and had to be hard on our D with so many reserves playing.

Good to see butt fumble Sanchez hasn't lost his touch. That red zone INT was classic mark.

Probably gave brother Vaark a chubby :)

What do you think about our run/pass ratio?

I still maintain that if Bill Lazor would simply remove all wide receiver screens from the offense and replace them with Lamar Miller runs, we would improve our offense by an appreciable margin without any other effort on our part. Sometimes Landry will get eight or ten yards on those, but sometimes we'll lose three, and there's a risk element in any pass like that, especially when you run it as much as we do. Meanwhile, we have the BEST percentage of 4+ yard runs in the NFL this season...

We don't need to be a run first offense, but now that Jay Ajayi has shown that he is a credible change of pace for Lamar Miller, we should take advantage of it. For once.

Very good summary. What I can't understand is that if fans see it, why can't our coaches?

My honest guess is that if Bill Lazor articulated his reasoning for this stuff, you would probably be impressed by it.

I just know that I'm consistently seeing some of the same things, and they're consistently not working.

3rd down is just insane with our offense. I get running short passes to let our guys get YAC and hopefully break some tackles and even on the odd 3rd down but consistently our guys aren't doing it right or the play call is telling them to run short of the sticks. I understand breaking tackles is part of the job but again not every single 3rd down play. Ajayi broke 6 tackles in 3 carries and then barely sees the ball again?? WTF? Miller was not having a good game yesterday and shouldn't have had as many carries as he did. Ajayi was playing better. I'd love to see Parker get a chance on some long throws. IF we are going to waste a down on the 5th screen like play in a row, why not throw one deep? I thought Lazor would be good for this team but I was wrong. The no audible playcalls and the terrible play calls with his pitch outs for minimal gain. I can't wait until we have someone new here that can use Tannehill better. Audible, bootlegs, even designed runs every once in a while.

And don't be afraid to run a QB sneak occasionally.

Have we had ONE this year.....If so, I don't recall it.
