Suh’s 2009 season at Nebraska was every bit as awe-inspiring and dominant as you remembered

Like all transcendent athletes at the peak of their powers, Suh looked like a grown man playing against middle schoolers. The way he moves in highlights relative to players around him is tough to process. The footage looks doctored. He was bigger, stronger, and quicker than everyone else, and that blend of traits made him virtually unstoppable.

The sheer number of bodies involved in a football game should make it impossible for any non-quarterback to single-handedly keep his team competitive, but Suh did that all the time during the ’09 season.

. . .

Suh’s ’09 season was as transcendent as it was remarkable, and looking through his old YouTube highlights felt like rediscovering why I got into covering football in the first place. So do yourself a favor and spend the next 15 minutes doing the same. You won’t regret it.

Good insight into Suh's college career with videos. And as mentioned in the article, it was a complete travesty that Suh not only didn't win the Heisman in '09 but actually finished 4th in voting (1. Mark Ingram, 2. Toby Gearhart, 3. Colt McCoy, 4. Ndamukong Suh, 5. Tim Tebow)

The only problem with him being so dominant is sometimes he creates cutback lanes by blowing up his blocker. It's not often you have to coach somebody to deal with that "problem".

As Dolphin fans we still see this problem with our aggressive front philosophy. There's a reason we have been horrible at stopping the run with our scheme, and this is a major reason why.

Suh was one of if not the most dominant players I've ever seen play. (college and pros)

Few and far between is an understatement with Suh. He's so dominate I watch him take on triple teams without losing ground.

Yes, we are extremely lucky no matter what we paid. Someone was going to pay him if we did not.

Wait until we see Aaron Donald or Mack's contracts lol It will bring fans that don't agree with the Suh contract some peace of mind.

Suh was the best player in college football when he finished 4th. Just amazing

With upgraded LBs we shouldn't be as vulnerable when this happens tho.

Remember so many Saturdays shouting "Suuuuhhh!!!" here in Nebraska. Thankful he has ended up playing for the Fins now too. It was a darn shame he didn't win the Heisman. Completely dominated games.

He was by far the best player in the nation and one of the best defenders and athletes god can make.

He is very smart as well which is a huge plus.

You must be thrilled being a Huskers and Fins fan. Who would've ever thought Suh would be a Fin?!?

Great pick up and once in a decade talent IMO

Im not a trade up guy in almost all cases, but this was an exception. Really wanted to see Fins pull the trigger but knew it wouldn't happen. When Lions picked him I figured that was the end of it. But big Suh had other plans. He cost us a chunk of change...but here is one Husker fan who has been loving it. One of those rare moments as a fan to be able to keep cheering for the pride of your college team who is now holding it down for your pro squad too.

well the LB play being garbage does factor in more than anything
