Clearly this is an... 'out there' thread which I usually don't weigh in on, however it speaks to something I've mentioned before.
We are lacking... nasty, aggressive tone setters - that can play football. This is why I really do believe we brought in Finnegan and Delmas, and Smith on the OL, along with a Turner at Guard.
In all honesty - and this may be harsh, but we've gotten soft over the last number of years. I'm not talking about 'The OL Situation' from last year, but our general level of play.
You look at every Super Bowl winner and they have a certain physical nastiness to them - might only be one group, but it's about Tone Setters, and we haven't had any for a while.
This year, I'm hoping that our DL will be so aggressive from a scheme standpoint and I think it starts with Starks/Mitchell and Odrick, followed up by the Secondary, along with - hopefully a health Misi at Mike - this is where we need to have the 'Presence'. But the Trio at DT are Key.
Additionally, on Offense and the whole WR situation, you have to wonder if the selection of Landry played into this also?
We need some thumpers!
