Not a good place to watch a game. Great place to eat though. I listed someother places that are much closer to Universal. Try those first!!!!!:D

Yeah it wasn't the best place. I was just down visiting my girls' parents and her dad said there was a Marinos Tavern a little bit up scale if I remember correctly.

Absolutely! Great Food. A bit steep on the prices.
The last time we played Buffablow in the post season, I tried to watch the game there, but they wouldn't put the sound on. I'm like, how in the he11 can you not play sound for a playoff game when the namesake of this place is the quaterback!!!!????!!!!!!!

i just moved to orlando, and actually got rid of my direct tv ( wife ). the cable company told me they were getting a football package, which i had heard from other people, and i got a good deal on the internet phone and cable, with high def tivo combo stuff, but of course they didnt come thru with the nfl package.. for at least a year ( or so i hear) so now that i have all the digital cable equipment im not switchin back to direct tv, so i wont be seeing any away games this year, which sucks. im gonna have to find a sports bar myself around here, near universal, any ideas?

We see away games here, not sure why you think otherwise. Last year I'd say we got at least 10 games, if not more. We also get the 790 feed, barely, so that helps. When all else fails, ESPN.com and their live game update.

Orlandonians!!! Please, whenever there is a Jax game on, call that channel and complain that they don't have the fins on. I call all the time and it really does help. One year they didn't have any hurricane games, I called every week. Every year since they have EVERY 'cane game televise!! wo0t. So it does help to call and complain when WESH doesn't have the fins on.

that article explains the whole situation we have in Orlando.
it pretty much says:

"Jacksonville Jaguars claim Orlando as a secondary territory, WKMG-Ch. 6 is obligated to show the Jags whenever they are on the road."

"WKMG will show 8 dolphins games and is trying to add 1 more"

"WKMG will carry 9 JAGS games, 8 PHINS games, and 6 JETS games" ....WTF!!!

Usually Channel 65 (UPN) will show the pre-season games. That is the channel that showed the game against the Jaguars (thankfully). I don't know why they show all of the Jaguars games in Orlando over the Dolphins. There are a heck of a lot more Dolphin fans in Orlando, than Jacksonville fans.

another place if your in the Altamonte Springs area is "Kiwi's" at the corner of 436 & 434. Great Dolphin bar, 6 giant screens, great wings, and cheap beer.

A couple of years ago, I called WESH, and the word I got was that if the Phins and the Jags are playing at the same time, and the Jags game is away, they have to show the Jags as per the NFL. The guy also said, that if he had to choose, he would definately show the Phins because the ratings are higher than the Jags. I don't know if that holds true for this year or not because things do change. It ticks me off that when the Jags came into the league they were able to claim Orlando as a home city, which basically screwed all of us Phins fans here!! With ABC and Fox Buc stations we get the shaft!

Also, for those willing to drive a little bit from Orlando, the Beef O'Brady's in Vero (on Hwy US 1) gets the Miami CBS station (or at least they used too). Last year when the hurricanes hit, I drove over there and watched a game. Call first just to make sure, but I'm guessing they may have this weeks pre-season game.

Steve

UPDATE: I just checked Vero's comcast TV line-up and they are showing the game! It's on WTVX Channel 6. If I remember correctly, Beef's can get that channel, but please call first. Their number is 772.794.2059 ask for one of the owner's Garry or Kerry or the manager if they aren't there. Last time I went, I explained I was planning to come over and Garry(I think) was very helpful. He even saved me the BIG TV!

Hope this helps anyone planning on going!

Steve

Note: Vero isn't that bad of a drive from Orlando. Just take the Turnpike south to Yeehaw Junction and go east on route 60 (I believe), to US 1. Map quest should make it easy so you won't get lost.
