I am sorry but this guy is awful, he has no confidence and constantly misses every game. Hopefully we will be able to find a different kicker for next year, he is just not panned for the NFL it seems. What are your opinions on him?

we can always get carp back assuming the bills cut him when hopkins come back healthy next year

I hope you aren't talking about the 52 yard kick that he missed at the end of the first half into the open end of the stadium that the longest kick ever made there was Jeff Reed in 2010 under perfect conditions. Sturgis was in the snow, with wind and it was on target. He had a 3% chance of making that kick. I'm not saying he's had a great season but if this one kick is "Jonathan Marting (straw that broke the camel's back)" you should wait until he misses another high percentage kick.

No need to get rid if him yet. Though I would sign an undrafted rookie to bring to camp and put some pressure on him. Not necessarily take his job, but just to make him sweat a little.

You are mad cuz he missed a 52 yarder in the snow?

I think he is doing alright for a rookie.

Our coaching staff has set the kid up for failure, many many times this season.

He'll be ok if only we'd put him in better situations to succeed.

And last year we all wanted carpenter gone. It was a good move. Every kicker goes through slumps. Some have rookie contracts making rookie money and other you pay millions of dollars.

Id keep sturgis

How so? He's missed two kicks from the 30-39 yard range. Those should be gimme's. Two kicks from the 40-49 yard range and he's 3-7 from 50+. Give him the two 30-39 yard FGs he missed and one of the 40-49 yarders and his percentage goes up to 84.8 which is much more respectable...but about the same percentage that Carp had when we cut him.

League average from 50+ is 62.6% by the way....Sturgis is at 42.9% from 50+

I got no problem with him missing the impossible kick he was asked to make at the end of the first half.

I got a problem with all the other misses.

He's young, still learning. Has a great leg, just needs to fine tune the accuracy. Not his fault he missed the kick yesterday.
