At Iowa State he was behind a pretty bad line. He more than likely won't be back next year so we might as well see what he can do before we get rid of him. So for aside from 2 games Gus can't get it done. I was not thinking that this team would be playoff bound but really didn't think they would be this bad on offense. Sage can't be any worse than this but he can atleast scramble so might not be a bad idea to give him some reps.

And your prayers come through

1/1 77 yards and a touchdown

I think Sage would have won the starting job in the preseason if he wasn't forced to go up against 3rd stringers all preseaon.

interesting point you got there.

i hope saban wakes up and realizes that gus sucks.

i hope the players realize that gus sucks as well and nudge saban in teh direction of starting sage. they must have been really happy to see sage throw that 77 yard touchdown pass to sage.

I think if Saban starts Sage hes officially givin up on the season

Definition of insane: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Gus is playing pretty much at his career average right now. Why would you expect him to suddenly play much better?

Yea but Sage threw the 77 yard touchdown with the Cheifs third string guys on the field.

Just putting the answer down that some will come to a conclusion somehow or maybe it was garbage time. Or here is the real answer Gus sucks why not play Sage. Not a bad start for Sage. Anyone who thinks he is trash has no ammo for the excuse except he does not play.

Well Tom Brady never played until someone got hurt.

I agree I think that in 3 weeks or so if there is no improvement he will start him but we should not play musical QB's.

Nope, he's just giving up on Gus. When your QB play is bringing the rest of the team down, you should look to someone else. Just because Sage is inexperienced doesn't mean he shouldn't get a chance to prove his worth.

so sage actually hit the reciever chambers pretty good. unline gus who would overthrow him or underthrown him.

He was two years in the league. Not the case with Sage.

Or hit him, like he did with MArty Booker in the first game. Even a blind squirrel can find a nut. Come on people, let the coaches make the call, you know they say that there is no better player in the team than the back up QB, basically because he doesn't play, he has no chances to make mistakes, and no one remembers mistakes. If Sage plays, I would bet you 300 dollars that the guy will not be able to hold a full season of good play, he might have a good game here or there, just like gus, but not great.

And don't give me that developing for the future, if Sage goes in and finishes the year with a 42% completion, 2000 yards 11 touchdowns and 15 int. Don't tell me you will be asking for another chance, and not clamoring for a new QB, Sage is old, he has been in the league for a while, would he light a spark, yes, maybe for a game or two, but he is not going to hold it, he is going to be what he is: a mediocre QB, a third stringer. Not that Gus is much different, but you can tell the coaches trust him more, maybe even the players trust him more.... What would be the point there?
