Negative Reflection on Fin Fans

Fans are missing the point.. It's about the fans.. not the team. Our home field is a joke because of the lack of support. Not because of opposing fans buying tickets. Not because of the heat. Excuses can only go so far. It's one thing to want a winning.. it's another thing all together to tank on your team when only 4 games have been played.

Hate to break it to you but the Miami Dolphins tanked on the fans a long time ago. What you see now is retaliation.

Sure we may attract coaches.. maybe not.. It's a poisonous situation. If he doesn't deliver immediately, he gets flame roasted too.

Andrew Luck? I sure as hell wouldn't come here either the way we've thrown our players under the bus. And yes, players can dictate where they go. So all this suck for luck doesn't guarantee anything.

There simply isn't any support for this team anymore. People are roasting an owner who didn't create this mess. Just blaming anything and anyone blindly like a lynch mob at the Salem Witch trials.

Every team goes through a down period. But the real sad part is when the fans make jokes out of themselves.

There isn't much for us to defend anymore. When someone comes here and says Dolphin fans suck... we may have to agree.

The sad part is.. FH used to talk about the players, plays, games etc... noow all we're talking about is how bad we can suck, for a player that has no guarantee of being anything.

Makes me believe that people will buy anything shoved in their face.

You absolutely NAILED it right here brother. Right outa the park.... might have to start calling you Nelson Cruz.......

Sure I've seen Luck play, 1-1/2 seasons worth.
He has LOTS of promise, but he's not the only one that does.

To openly hope and cheer for your team to lose is pathetic. Just imagine how it would look if we saw Jest fans rolling over for this.

I'd be concerned. Very concerned. Jet fans are pissed at the possibility of us "tanking" and getting Luck. Believe that.

Matt Barkley and Landry Jones are promising.

But they're not Andrew Luck. If you've seen 1.5 years worth then you know it.

Really? Define "A long time ago".

Pretty sure Chad Henne would appreciate hearing that as he nurses his season ending injury.
Especially the rookies, I KNOW they would love hearing that.

Losing becomes a way of life if you let it. Very hard to stop once you start

In 40 years of watching players go from College to the Pro's I have seen LOTS of promise, and much less actually pan out.

Once again, go back and look at success rate for QB's taken 1st overall. It is INCREDIBLY low.

Oh and another thing. Remember when the fans walked out on Detroit in protest of Matt Millen? How'd that work out for them? They got Martin Mayhew as their new GM, Jim Schwartz as their new coach and 3 years after being hired they're 5-0 and looking very strong.

We can only hope that all this fan retaliation can lead to something as successful.

Unlike those proverbial "chicken and egg," "horse and cart" we do know for sure which one came first.

it was our beloved franchise initially becoming a joke that definitely caused its fanbase to then become one!

Point is, no matter the rationale, rationalizations, justifications, excuses or whatever, we collectively as fins fans are viewed as a joke nationally, even by the fans of other long-suffering teams. It is what it is. No doubt the opinion is that we deserve each other! :idk:

They day they hired Dave Wannstedt they bailed on the fans. That was 2000...so 11 years now. Wannstedt was terrible at Chicago and he destroyed that team, then he came here, lived for a while on Jimmy Johnson's players as he slowly destroyed this team. We still haven't fully recovered.

If Chad Henne and the rookies played better we wouldn't be saying Suck for Luck now would we. We'd be talking about who we need to beat to get to the playoffs. Too bad if it hurts their feelings but I didn't go to a school where everybody got a prize so no one felt left out. You get results or you get replaced. I hope Henne has a full recovery, wish him the best, but he's not the answer. I think after 31 starts we would all be able to see that now but apparently not.

Long time ago? we won the division 3 yeas ago. EVERYONE was cheering when we got Parcells. Everyone was happy when we got hotshot OC Cameron, after our lackluster running game offense for years. Everyone hailed Saban as a hero.

Parcells hated the media and fans here, Saban hated the media and fans here, Cameron, got crucified by the fans and media.. see the trend?

Huizenga made some hires for the sake of this franchise that many of the fans supported wholeheartedly.

At the time people loved them.. no they didn't always work out.. but they don't always do for any team in the NFL.

If anything.. I would put this on Huizenga than anyone. He built winning hockey and baseball teams.. but he had the curse of the devil for the dolphins.

They certainly did bail on MILLEN.. not on their love for their team. The didn't want to suck. And quite honestly, there is no comparison between Detroit and Miami. Detroit has only now become relevant for the first time in DECADES. Miami has only been futile for the past 7 years.

Just goes to show you how spoiled we are. How many years did we have winning seasons with Wanny? I think we'd all would've been happy with at least a 9-7 season. How many real losing seasons have we had since 2003?

I agree with that. I thought the 1-15 season would be the absolute low point but certainly the accumulation of being at the bottom, or near the bottom for so long has led to this. This franchise has done a lot of stupid things and the fans have had to suffer for it, GM calling a kids mom a whore, Owner flying out to interview a coach while he still has one employed, coaches yelling at potential free agents because he didn't know the position coach, former VP saying he recommended a coach for another franchise and being proud of the fact as if to take credit for his success, etc., etc. It all becomes too much at some point.

Taking on the persona of actually hoping for losses is something you won't ever outlive. EVER.

Once again, I have to pose this question, have you personally ever seen Luck play? I've asked this question no less than 12 times and haven't been told that "Yes, I have, I know exactly what and who he is".

I find it mindboggling and actually very troubling that an entire fanbase would hope for losses for a media led promise.

Once again, IF we end up getting Luck, better hope he pans out immediately or our entire fanbase will never hear the end of it.

No I havent seen him in person. Neither have I seen Peyton, Brady, Brees, Rodgers...or even as I tried my damnedest , never saw Marino because the few games he was ever hurt happened to be the ones I had tickets to. But I don't doubt their greatness just because I haven't been there.

Regardless, I doubt it would change your mind. How about this: Jim Irsay has seen him in person, and already said he would take him #1. That help?
