Negative Reflection on Fin Fans

I've already gone on and on about Oliver Luck being much smarter and accomplished, more NFL plugged in and influential than the average dad and that he will surely be pulling the strings Archie Manning-style.

Ironically, although our fanbase has become a laughingstock over a moronic rhyme about tanking for his son, if you were in his shoes, would you really want your son going to such a fickle, dissatisfied over-expectant fanbase? Doubtful... especially since he QB'ed Houston when they went 2-14 and knows the initial struggles of PManning and Elway the first year.

The joke and spectacle our fans have become contributes just another reason for Oliver Luck to orchestrate a power play if necessary, ensuring Andrew ends up as a grasshopper sitting at his friend Peyton's feet.

This team is absolutely garbage. They are going to be horrible regardless of who they will or won't get in the draft. I know you are trying to temper expectations, but there is no point in that right now. The only guy who is available that is seen as a franchise changer right now is Luck. What franchise needs to be changed right now more than the Dolphins? Until I know there is no chance of getting the guy I will be hoping that we can land him. I don't know why you wouldn't want him.

As a fan I'd definitely want him here!!!!

However as a dad who had a type A personality and the bite to go with it, I'd want him in Indy or if not, under Elway's watchful eye in Denver. I'd not want him anywhere where the fans have such high expectations, boo their QB chanting other teams' QB names and pull for losses. I watched what Archie went through in NO and as a result considering what he heard as an insider about Spanos, never faulted him as a dad for putting his son's best interests before any public opinion.

I guess I just don't understand why you keep bringing this up though. If it had been reported that he would not come to Miami I would understand, but this is just 100% speculation and has a small probability of happening. I think a far bigger hurdle in getting Luck would be getting the first pick in the draft not whether or not he will come here. You may be proven right, but it just seems overly negative thinking and that surprises me coming from you because you are normally pretty positive.

Yeah because losing year after year after year after year doesn't draw any negative attention to the franchise from the fans lol.

We need a franchise QB or we aren't winning anything any time soon. Period.

A campaign of losing is in turn, a campaign of winning and change.

A lot of people just can't see it yet.

I don't understand why a brick wall has to hit them in order for them to see it. Its a no-brainer. Suck for Luck and get the # 1 pick and then be in the playoffs for the next 10-15 years.

Taking on the persona of actually hoping for losses is something you won't ever outlive. EVER.

Once again, I have to pose this question, have you personally ever seen Luck play? I've asked this question no less than 12 times and haven't been told that "Yes, I have, I know exactly what and who he is".

I find it mindboggling and actually very troubling that an entire fanbase would hope for losses for a media led promise.

Once again, IF we end up getting Luck, better hope he pans out immediately or our entire fanbase will never hear the end of it.

I can tell you I have seen him play 6 or 7 times and each time I just end up drooling over the fact he could be a Miami Dolphin. If the Miami fanbase should have seen one game with him, it was last years Orange Bowl. If you are a true football fan you watched that, and you indeed saw a master of a QB at work. That game alone would be enough for most fans to want to Suck for Luck.

Fans are missing the point.. It's about the fans.. not the team. Our home field is a joke because of the lack of support. Not because of opposing fans buying tickets. Not because of the heat. Excuses can only go so far. It's one thing to want a winning.. it's another thing all together to tank on your team when only 4 games have been played.

Sure we may attract coaches.. maybe not.. It's a poisonous situation. If he doesn't deliver immediately, he gets flame roasted too.

Andrew Luck? I sure as hell wouldn't come here either the way we've thrown our players under the bus. And yes, players can dictate where they go. So all this suck for luck doesn't guarantee anything.

There simply isn't any support for this team anymore. People are roasting an owner who didn't create this mess. Just blaming anything and anyone blindly like a lynch mob at the Salem Witch trials.

Every team goes through a down period. But the real sad part is when the fans make jokes out of themselves.

There isn't much for us to defend anymore. When someone comes here and says Dolphin fans suck... we may have to agree.

The sad part is.. FH used to talk about the players, plays, games etc... noow all we're talking about is how bad we can suck, for a player that has no guarantee of being anything.

Makes me believe that people will buy anything shoved in their face.

Dude its nice to talk a big game about fan support from your igloo in Canada. How about coming to live here and put your fan in the seats for every game and PAY for it. Get a job here in Miami that pays the same as your job in Canada (be ready to habla Espanol). News to you fella, you won't find it that easy. Miami has a HIGH cost-of-living and low paying jobs, which makes expendable income all that more precious.

After enduring 9 of the last 10 years OUT of the playoffs, fans are starting to say the hell with the Miami Dolphins. They continue to suck, and we are tired of it, and paying our thousands of dollars for little if any reward (we have won 3 of the last 17 home games). Dude its just not fun to go to Dolphins games anymore, and people who have been loyal and buying tickets for years, hoping and wishing that maybe, by some miracle, that the Fins will "get it" this year, have finally said that's it.

You say the owner is not to blame ? Hogwash. He has owned the team for 3 full years. If he had wanted he could have replaced anyone in his FO & coaching staff, yet he hasn't. He flirted with Harbaugh last off-season, but couldn't close the deal. That, to many fans, was the final straw. Until the owner shows us he wants to win, instead of just saying so, and also throwing out orange carpets with C-List celebrities as minority owners, the fans are giving the Dolphins and especially Steven Ross a big raspberry.

My debate isnt whether or not he looks pretty good.

I have seen LOTS of Andrew Luck, and he does indeed portray much of what you would want in a QB.
If we happen to get him, I like the idea.
To sell out, and in fact become a non-fan of the dolphins for it to happen is NOT part of my personal belief system. Not even close.

You're igloo in Canada?

Really?

You have just taken ignorance to an entirely new level.

Fine you do what you have to do, and I have no problem with it. But you should also just stop whining about those that have an opposing view of how to get the Dolphins better. If Sucking for Luck gets us Andrew Luck or even landry Jones or Matt Barkley, than how in the hell can you call anyone that roots for that, a bad fan.

Dude in the end it doesn't matter what we do, or how we look to others. No one will care about that in 3 years if we get Luck or Jones or Barkley and we are soldout every game and going deep into the playoffs (or even a SB).

You have just violated TOS by calling me ignorant. You took a personal shot and should be suspended.

Actually, I am pointing out the fact that people in Canada don't live in Igloo's

If your panties are really in a bunch over it, PM the MODS.

Yep, and when Andrew Luck decides he doesnt want to play for a crappy fanbase, don't blame me.

Nah he attacked your post not you. He didn't call you ignorant he said that your post took ignorance to a new level not against the ToS afaik.

I'm very glad you made this comment. I have been to Miami many times to see a game.. And it costs me $2000 just to get there and for accommodation.. not merely gas money or a bus ride!

Last year I saw Miami in Buffalo, same as this year. I've seen the Dolphins in Oakland, New York x3, Buffalo x5, Green Bay (my brothers team), Dallas, AND Miami x7.

So what was that again about support? and talking tough? It costs me thousands to see the Phins over and above ticket costs.

And yes.. you are ignorant, there are no-one living in igloos. Not even the aboriginal peoples of the north.

Before you become offended, please look up the definition of ignorance.

Just imagine how it would look if we saw Jest fans rolling over for this.

Don't for a second think that they wouldn't. Remember, most of them are also Knicks fans and these were the same people rooting for LeBron against the Knicks when they thought they had a shot at him.
