Never went to a game; Dolphins vs Eagles will be my first!

I've never been to an NFL game. As a Miami fan living 50 miles north of Philly, there aren't many chances to go see my team play. Sure, there's a game at the Jets every year and at the Eagles and Giants on occasion, but I refuse to drive to those cities/stadiums and IMO prices are way too high. And, I'm sure that I'd get a better view on TV than at the stadium way up in the cheap seats. So, I stay at home and watch them on TV if I'm lucky, or on a lousy website that freezes every other minute. A few days ago my brother-in-law asked me if I wanted some tickets and a parking pass for the game. I wasn't going to take them unless I could find someone who knows how to get to the stadium and is willing to drive for a ticket. I asked my neighbor (Eagles and Phillies fan... of course!) and he wants to go and is willing to drive.

I got the tickets and went to the stadium's website to see where we'll be sitting. Club level seats at the 50 yard line on the Visitor's side of the field... Woo Hoo! Not bad for my first game. Of course I'll be seeing a Miami team that is on pace for a Top 5 draft pick and I'll be surrounded by Eagles fans, but the tickets were free and I'm sure I'll have a good time no matter what happens on the field. I've always heard stories about drunken, obnoxious, and sometimes violent fans at football games. I remember reading in the newspaper years ago that Philly actually put a Judge (or someone similar) on duty at the stadium because there were so many arrests made during games. And, I think it was in Philly that fans pelted the field with snowballs one year. What a bunch of idiots... I guess that it's all just part of the entertainment!
 
Be safe. Hopefully you get to witness the start of the 8 game winning streak. LOL

You picked the absolute worst stadium and opponent to go to. They don't have jail cells and a judge at the link for nothing.....philly fans are the worst, period. Nothing comes close.

harsh, but true.

You should have gone to a Meadowlands game - at least you could have also seen New York City for the weekend.
 
You picked your first game to see the Dolphins at Philly?

My prediction...you'll never go to another game again.
 
I've lived in philly for the past 20 or so years. Everyone says their terrible fans.... And they are if your not a fan of the Eagles. But they are seriously the greatest diehard fans of their team. This is gonna sound like I'm telling you not to have fun but it's in your best interest. 1) I'm glad your going with an eagles fan. This will make your experience a little better, but Don't wear your jersey. You will be heckled all game long. 2) I wouldn't cheer too loud if the fins do something good. Don't worry.... They rarely do. 3) most important.... DO NOT talk $&@t. They will throw things at you, heckle you and seriously want to fight you. This is a very hostel place to watch a game. I wish you the best and be smart.
 
i'll be going as well. I will be leaving all Dolphin gear at home

hopefully my perfect 0-3 record attending Dolphin games will change.
 
DeMarco Murray will have a field day with us this weekend and Miami season will be DONE FOR GOOD!!
No more talk of achieving our targets and goals then I can tell you.
 
Don't worry about it. Just enjoy the experience of going to watch your team for the first time.
 
I will be there as well and I am wearing my dolphins gear and will be drunk. Dont care what anyone says. I have been to Phillies games against the braves Nova games against syracuse. Sixers games against the knicks and never had an issue.

They are not only at home the worst fans also away. When they play down here they bring a throng of fans with them. I have never seen so many fights and police interventions in my life. Not even in the crazy 90s with the Bills fans.

Bad game to pick for a first Phins game. You almost have to hope for the Dolphins to lose just to make sure you are somewhat safe. If they win: wait as long as possible. Or bring a shovel with you so you can dig your way out. :lol:

What do you expect from a city who puts up a statue of a fictional movie character (not a movie star, a movie character).

Congrats on your first game. My dad was born and raised in Philly, and he then joined the Marines when he was 18, and rarely ever goes back there. :lol: Our family has lived in Colorado the past 40 years so my dad now is a Bronco's fan, but the Eagles are kind of his backup second favorite. I root for the Phillies, Sixers and Flyers because of my dad. I think Eagles and Philly fans in general get a bad rap. You can wear an opposing team's jersey, just don't run your mouth and be cool, and most people you won't have a problem with. The Linc is not a trash dump like Veteran's Stadium was.
 
I went to the eagles game at the Vet when he surpassed halas with Doug Peterson at QB. Enjoy it. I've been to 24 road stadiums. The Raiders, Bills, Jets/Eagles ( tie) are the worst fans. Fins up
