Carey was disappointed when the Hurricanes moved him from right tackle to left guard last season. Battling high ankle sprains and a knee injury that would require surgery, Carey struggled. Kehoe said Carey is a tackle and that the move was necessitated only by Miami's lack of depth.

"Give the kid credit," Dolphins General Manager Rick Spielman said. "He really gutted it out."

I always like the tough guys who will play through injury. This guy played through injury and didn't fall out of the first round. That's pretty rare.
