New Coach

Yea, Its not like he only won the Super Bowl with Terrell Davis and John Elway are anything like that. Why was he fired again? Oh yea, because his teams were MEDIOCRE after Elway left and his defenses were freaken terrible. OMG people. Get a clue

Give me a clue then! Who is a GREAT coach in your opinion?

Yea lets get rid of the staff that took us from 1 and 15 to 11 and 5 and a divison title..

We are 5 and 6..far from awful..

We have been in a lot of close games...

Also lets get rid of the guys who have influxed the team with young talent at almost every position..

Some fans are so impatient..

Takes time...

Even God took 7 days to build Earth

Lol

Jeff Fisher

Bill Cowher

Reid

Belicheat (Even though he does have Brady, so who knows about this one).

It is laughable that a you would call a Shannan is a GREAT coach. He was freaken fired for being mediocre without Elway.

Everyone is wanting the heads of our coaches right now. And rightfully so... but my question is, who do we bring in to replace them?

IMO... Mike shanahan would be a good HC for us. I don't know about OC or DC though... Thoughts?
I am just glad that fans can not decide the future of NFL teams. Sparano is not getting fired, nor does he deserve to. This is his SECOND year as head coach, and he is 16-11 after taking over a team that won ONE game the year before.

Come on people, yesterday was heartbreaking and Sparano does deserve the blame, but you can't seriously want a new coach already. This team has been a turnstile for coaches ever since they fired Wannstedt. We have yet to have a head coach last more then two seasons since 2004. Now that is pathetic. Sometimes the best thing you can do is to do nothing.

Let's take Marvin Lewis of the Bengals as an example. He won 16 games his first two seasons with the Bengals(Sparano also has 16 wins, but still has 5 games to go). There were probably fans calling for his head after just two seasons, since he didn't deliver one winning season(Sparano has given us one and still could give us two). In his third season he accomplished what Sparano did in his first season, by going 11-5, winning the division and losing in the first round of the playoffs. People were high on him again.

Then, Lewis turned out an 8-8 season, a 7-9 season, and a 4-11-1 season. People were calling for his head after last season and wanting change. The Bengals stuck with him, now he is off to an 8-3 start and likely has the division wrapped up.

Sparano is having a touch season so far at 5-6, but this is just his second year, and he is growing as a head coach. As a first time NFL head coach, that was to be expected. Luckily for him though, he has Parcells looking over him, guiding him, and working with him to fix the problems.

I am not saying Sparano is an elite coach, but I am preaching patience for a guy that has won us a division title and has us competing just two years after a 1-15 season(that likely could have been a 0-16 season if we didn't get lucky in that Ravens game). He has been devastated by injuries(starting QB, starting RB, starting CB, starting NT, 3rd RB used a lot in the wildcat) and was given the TOUGHEST schedule in the entire NFL. While we didn't win, he had us on the brink of beating both the Saints and the Colts, who as of this post are both undefeated.

This kind of season could actually be what Sparano needs to become that great coach we have been searching for. He rode into Miami as an unknown, took the NFL by surprise with the biggest one year turnaround in NFL history and was treated like GOD all last offseason. Now that he is struggling, this could be a wake up call to him and bring things into perspective. He now has seen the best and the worst side of being a head coach and that will only make him stronger and make him a better coach in year three.

Sparano is going nowhere, and he doesn't deserve to get fired.

You're joking, right? I mean did Tony Sparano forget how to coach in the span of 1 yr?

I want Shanny if he comes with Elway, Terrell Davis, Neil Smith, Steve Atwater, Rod Smith, Ed McCaffrey, and Shannon Sharpe.

First-off Shanahan was fired for refusing to give up his GM duties. This is a standard move by many NFL coaches when power is removed from them. They would rather be fired and paid out.

Second- Last night you were trashing my opinion of Vince Young, claiming you guys started Kerry Collins. So with that mistake you are still claiming Fisher the coach that made that mistake and has never won a Superbowl is a better coach?

What is laughable is you claiming 2 guys that have never won a Superbowl is better then Shanahan! The only one on your list that accomplished more then Shanahan as a HC is Belicheat.

Whatever man everyone is entitled to their opinion!

So I have to assume that Bill Bilichick (sp?) was an amazing coach his first two years right? Why do I ask? Because you guys all want to throw the towel on every coach. Here is an idea, why dont we hire and fire coaches every two years. We can become the Oakland Raiders. Everyone will want to come and coach or play for us.

:rolleyes2:

When i see a team that is out played in the second half on a consistent basis, a coach who is a terrible clock manager and doesn't know when to use a timeout, i get concerned.
Would you take Bill Cowher over Sparano?

I'm at a loss for words....
I'll just say that he's not going anywhere.
Now I'm gonna leave this thread and never come back.

i honestly dont get the hate for Sparano....

we are without our starting QB, starting RB, #1 Corner, starting DT, and have a shuffled OLine. its tough to win games consistently with all those pieces missing. last year we stayed healthy for the most part and look what he did

offensive coordinator is a whole other story, but Sparano shouldnt be, and wont be, going anywhere

well some of us are damn sick and tired of these bull **** excusses. we have been having injury problems since the good ole Jimmy Johnson and John Avery days.
what some people dont understand is that a good coahc would get pissed at the playcalling a good coach and gm would contiue to bring in players regardless of what time of the season it is.

my only problem is that Henne is thrown to the wolfs like Beck was and Henne has less help. none of our damn wrs would even be #3 wrs on most teams ; so somebody please tell me how many more centurys must pass before the dolphins eve get remotely scarey players let alone pro bowlers.

Acefin here is near superhero status but I am not infallible like Ray Lucus or Joey Harrington so the question is when are we going to see a awe inspiring wr corp and a good runningback corp at the same time ? other teams do it and thats why they are winning super bowls while we sit around braggin about our delightful wr corp that was made for dropping passes.:ponder::pop:

this is the main problem.. Before we start firing Sparano, we should try to get people who actually know how to call plays. I wonder how many bad situations Henning puts Sparano in because of his crappy playcalling... And yes, sparano is ultimately responsible, but Henning and Pissqualoni need to go before Sparano does. Sparano wanted a tough, smash the ball down your throat running team and instead he got an offensive coordinator that like to get cute and makes pretty in pink playcalls.

You know something I find funny is that we Dolphins fans wanted Saban to return for a third season. Honestly we are now glad he left because we found out he was talking to Alabama all along and really didn't want to be in Miami. However, step back to 2006, before you really knew he was leaving for Bama, and I would say the majority of fans wanted him back. A guy who was 15-17, with no trips to the playoffs.

Threads dominated the board with sighs of relief when reports first came out that he turned down Alabama in November. Fans remained in denial through December and really didn't want to see him leave until a week or so before the end of the season when it became obvious that he was looking for an out.

Now, Sparano, who has proven to be a better coach, WON a division title with the Dolphins and still could finish his first two years without having a losing season is being thrown to the wolves by some Dolfans.

You know what Jimmy Johnson's record was in his first two years as an NFL head coach? 8-24

Bill Belichick's first two years in Cleveland? 13-19

Bill Belichick's first two years in New England? 16-16

Marv Levy? 11-21

Mike Shanahan's first three years(didn't coach a second full season with the Raiders)? 16-20

My point is, hardly does a head coach who is new to the title, come in and lead his team to the promise land right away. They have some growing pains right away. Also, don't give me Mike Tomlin as an example, because he benefited in getting a team a year removed from being Super Bowl champions, while Sparano got a 1-15 team.
