New Depth Chart

That has to be a mistake.

He has been ahead of Henne in the chart all preseason.

Personally, I would prefer it that way. I don't want Henne to see the field this season. If Pennington goes down, let Beck get rattled, not Henne.

Well I'd still consider it bull****. We'll know for sure Week 1 when the No. 3 is inactive. If Pennington goes down, I think Henne will come in. Henne's earned the No. 2 spot, and if they were going to rely on Beck as the top backup he would have gotten to do more than hand-off the last few games.

wait.. langford is ahead of merling? i know he is doin great, but isnt merlin as well?

Merling and Langford play on different sides. Langford stepped into the starting lineup when Roth got moved to OLB, while Merling is still blocked by Holliday. Langford played better of the two anyway and has more experience in the 3-4. They'll both see plenty of action this year anyway.

They play different positions.

Think you meant to say sides. They're both ends.

Also, this isn't really a new depth chart. It is just the old depth chart with the cut players gone. There are no realignments. Look at it. Yeremiah Bell and Channing Crowder don't even have a backup listed.

I don't consider it such. Look at Parcells' coaching style, which you know Sparano will follow closely, Romo didn't play at all for three years. Further, Henne rather played himself out of the #2 spot these last couple of games.

And Beck played himself into it with a bunch of handoffs and a few fumbles?

He had a snap at his feet, what the **** do you want him to do with it? Seriously, I like Henne, but I recognize he isn't Marino and he's going to take a couple years to make into a real NFL QB. I suggest you come to the same realization before you do yourself an injury.

Your comment is quite ridiculous. You were the one that said Henne had not earned the backup spot, and therefore you'e saying Beck has. Fumble or no, he clearly has not. Then, you say that "Henne is not Marino" as if I implied anything of the kind. The only thing I've said is that he's earned the backup job over Beck, which is the truth.

I am clearly not the one deluding himself here. Why is it so unreasonable that Henne is the top backup? The other three quarterbacks taken in the top two rounds (Ryan, Flacco, Brohm) will either start or be No. 2 men this season. Henne far outplayed Beck in preseason and has earned the No. 2 gig. There is no way the organization makes Beck the No. 2 guy, having hardly played him in preseason.

Making no judgment about the potential of either, the reality is that Beck merely serves as trade bait, while Henne is viewed by the organization as the future of the franchise.
