New details emerge, don't see how Marshall isn't suspended

I think eventually it will come out that the reason Marshall has stated repeatedly that his wife didn't stab him is because he stabbed himself. I believe it was a suicide attempt as the result of an argument they were having. I'd read somewhat about BPD even before this whole situation came to light and given the nature of people who suffer from that disorder suicide threats and attempts are, for them, relatively common. My guess is that his wife tried to take the blame for stabbing him given the stigma a suicide attempt by a public figure carries with it. I would also guess the reason that the charges were dropped against Marshall's wife is because Marshall went to the police and told them this.

Anyhow, the notion that Marshall will be suspended by the NFL over this incident is utterly ludicrous.

And I guess you believe he stepped on a vase too? People from "the real world" understand Brandon was most likely messing around, his wife got mad . . . crazy mad . . . they tussled and she stabbed him. They called a cop friend, he gave them advise on what to do and how to play it and that is what happened. You don't think Brandon didn't have something to do with the charges being dropped? I have seen this happen in my personal life to friends on more than one occassion. Is it right, no, but it happens, and Brandon and his wife have to make a decision if they want to continue living their lives like that . . . it is nobody's business . . . no matter what you feel or think. But can't explain anything to you because you LOVE to play devils advocate, so I know I wasted my time.

And I understand why you complain, but what I and many others can't understand is "why don't you find another team?" . . . or do you just enjoy being miserable?

Brandon cant drop the charges in this type of incident. Its up to the police. None of us know what happened and u are doing the same thing u claim I am doing. No one was actually charged in the stabbing because of conflicting evidence . the police cannot prove what happened. We know he was stabbed we dont know if he stabbed himself. we know there was a gun clip we dont know what happened there. We only know that Brandon marshall frequently has a domestic violence incident no matter who he is with.

As for finding another team , I guess I dont get the concept. You love your team and follow it for your whole life and because its ran badly u are supposed to jump ship. Its kind of like family U may love the hell out of them but that doesnt mean u act like everything they do is good. maybea new coach will take us back to promised land. Will never give up on my team but Im not going to pretend that all their decions are good. Back to back 7-9 means they are not doing good.

I can get down with that theory . . . it makes sense, not sure if it is correct or not, but it is a valid argument. Better than the "We don't know but he will eventually do something" rant that keeps popping it's head up in this thread. I know 2 people that were caught cheating, got stabbed, dropped charges on their lady (failed to follow up on them, purposely) and continued being with them, so that is how I drawed my conclusion.

I actually never considered this. Damn good point and extremely probable...

Im sure its pretty likely there will be another occurance. The police have been to his house multiple times for disturbance.

I think this is a bit of a stretch.. but im no doctor so.

cant get suspended for issues when the police never filed charges. then 3 months later the dude comes out about bpd. its done. hes good now.

As I mentioned in a thread a couple of months ago, no doubt in my mind Marshall will be missing some if not all of the 2011 season. With these new gruesome details emerging(read the whole article), confirms that Marshall is about to feel the wrath of Goodell. I wonder if they start looking at free agent receivers. Who is still out there?

We've all guessed what the league might or might not do, but the revelation of his illness may change the Commish's mind about discipline or even the severity of said discipline. Either way, it apparently wasn't too pretty on that night...

Ken LaVicka of ESPN 760 is reporting it is likely Marshall will be having a meeting with Goodell. I think he gets 8 games, maybe more. Hopefully the suspension happens soon so the Dolphins can plan for a possible replacement. The Dolphins do have cap room after re-doing Carey's contract, so maybe they put together a convincing offer to Randy Moss.
