First of all, I'd just like to say that if this seems familiar there is a reason for it. I did a blog like this - under the same name, actually - prior to the draft. I was able to build up some readers in a short time, but due to school and other personal stuff I kind of had to abandon it. Well, school and everything is going well now so I plan on fully re-dedicating myself to continuously updating this blog. For those of you who don't know (which I guess would be most), I'll introduce myself.
My name is Chris Nelson and I am a journalism major at Georgia State University. I've always loved writing and football, and while many people don't know what they want to do with their lives, I've known for years I wanted to be a sports writer and cover the NFL. More specifically, I'd like to cover the Miami Dolphins. I'm pretty confident in my writing abilities and my potential to get better, so I do think I will make it.
At this point, I'm just going to school and working toward my degree, but in my spare time when I'm not working on school stuff I do some things to practice for my chosen career. I currently write for KFFL.com (hopefully you've heard of it). Through there I was also published on Yahoo! Sports (though I'm not too fond of that particular article) and in a publication called World Championship of Fantasy Football Magazine.
Anyway, I've read about various sports blogs through the years and I've seen some of them become very big. While I'm not expecting anything like that, I would like to build up a pretty solid base of readers, as I do watch every snap the Dolphins play and have a pretty good understanding of the team and the game itself (at least as much as an outside fan can). All I ask is that you check out the blog, bookmark it and maybe check back for a week or two to see if you like it and to see the various content I plan on having. Hopefully it'll become part of your web-surfing routines. If you do like what you see, please share the blog with other Dolphins fans you know. Thanks for your time!
