Miami tried to put a good face on in public with Ross giving Sparano a vote of confidence, but that is not they way things are in private. Sparano is said to hate Ross for the Harbaugh pursuit. At one time, Sparano and general manager Jeff Ireland got along and worked well together, but sources say that relationship as deteriorated to being barely cooperative.

Sources have also said that the way Sparano mopes around the team facility, he has many wondering if he wants his job. He doesn't want to resign and lose his contract, so he'd rather force the Dolphins to fire him. That has many wondering when, not if, the team is going to quit on Sparano.

Despite all that, Sparano has a chance to finish out the season as the head coach. Sources say that the organization is not completely on board with firing him in mid-season and making Mike Nolan the interim coach. Ross and Ireland are said to not be committed to Nolan.

I think it takes a lot of balls to keep holding on to Sparano with so many people wanting him gone and I do feel it is the right decision to let him keep coaching until atleast near the end of the season when things are almost totally decided. I think there are a couple exceptional QBs to choose from at the top of the draft and Miami will have the opportunity of getting a possible franchise changer while also not be hamstrung to a ridiculous salary like in previous years. Luck is my personal preference like many of us and Landry Jones is looking better and better each passing game. Not sold on Barkley but he is still quite young.

well by not firing him during the bye week, i just don't see a point in firing him anymore till seasons end.

let him just coach the rest of the season, and then we will fire him. the truth is, its not like anyone is worthy of getting the interim tag anyway the way we have been playing.

it was either make the change during the bye, or dont make it till seasons end.

Ross doesn't want to make a change and why should he? He benefits more from the team losing at this point.

Interesting to hear Ross and Ireland aren't committed to Nolan. Can't blame them one bit.

Sparano is the world record scapegoat... He's fkd! Everyone but him and his players are sucking for Luck, try getting a job after this wreck of a seaason... FML applies to him as even a burger king facitity might see him as a high risk low reward situation...

Is Walterfootball.com considered a reliable source for league news? I'm legitimately asking this.

Sparano will never get another job in the NFL after his debacle in Miami. Nobody will want him even as an o-line coach after he can't build an o-line in Miami.

I don't like hearing Ross and Ireland agreeing on anything. It still gives Jeff hope that he may be brought back next year.

at this point, every coach associated with this current regime has to be wiped out...Ireland would be perferred, but as long as Sparano' gone I'll digress...

The dumbest thing we could do is fire Sparano. By keeping him the whole season, Ross actually saves some face by allowing the guy to coach out the year. 2, and more importanly- Andrew Luck. This kid would not only rescue the franchise ON the field- but OFF the field as well. You want fans to turn out? You want season ticket sales to blow up? Get Andrew Luck. Because that #1 pick also equals elite coaches like Cowher and Gruden lining up to coach your team. I don't care if we go 0-16- it's without a doubt in the best long-term interest of this franchise to do that if it means Andrew Luck. I've had enough of the suckiness and the mediocrity- but I'll GLADLY sacrifice this year for that long-term stability and success. We'll look back on this year and laugh in 5 years if we get Luck.

Ireland is a douchebag and I hold him primarily responsible for this mess..

The Ravens hired both Cam Cameron and Jim Zorn after their debacles. Rod Marinelli got a job after being the first to go 0-16.
