We can beat the stinkin' Patriots!
Drew Brees and Tom Brady are one and the same. Brady is still amazing bla bla bla BUT theres definitely still something off with him. Old Brady would never have thrown 2 picks against the crappy Bucs.
Running game.. no question huge edge goes to the Saints with their newly found three headed monster. New England on the hand doesnt really have any playmakers in their backfield. They dont really run the ball to begin with anyways.
Wide Recievers- Marquis Colston is comparable to Randy Moss. However, Welker is better than any reciever that the Saints have outside of Colston. Depth definitely goes to the Saints. Shockey is also better than the Pats tight ends although you cant sleep on Watson.
Oline- Run blocking goes to the Saints. Pass blocking seems to be a slight edge for the Patriots. I would've said edge to Saints here too but teams are starting to blitz Brees more and its working.
Dline- Edge goes to the Saints. Will Smith is an underrated D-end. Hes a beast. He dominated Sam Baker last night. Charles Grant is no slouch either. Losing Sedrick Ellis seems to not be that big of a loss for them. For the Patriots on the other hand, trading away Seymour, for the short term is hurting them, plus Jarvis Moss is out for a month.
LBers- This is a tough call but I'll say the LBers are even. Saints have Vilma and a bunch of scrubs. For the Pats, Mayo and Adalius Thomas who was actually benched earlier in the season.
Secondary- Huge Edge for the Saints. Darren Sharper is the best safety in football right now. Jabrari Greer and Tracy Porter are extremely talented and a very underrated tandem. For the Pats, their secondary is playing well.
So I feel that if we can play to the level of the Saints, we can DEFINITELY play to the level, and beyond, of the Patriots. Plus, we also seem to be the Patriots kryptonite. I'll be watching JT all game.
